The aluminum models are available in locking and non-locking styles and all models feature a durable powder coated finish (paint). Aluminum is an excellent material to use because it is strong, inexpensive and will not rust. However, aluminum will oxidize over time and that is why a protective and attractive powder coating (paint) is applied. The powder coating process uses opposite electrical charges to create a strong adhesion between the aluminum and the paint. Usually an electrical charge is applied to the mailbox and then an opposite charge is applied to the paint. This powder coating will enable the mailbox to withstand harsh climate conditions such as heat, cold and humidity. It is an excellent method to protect and enhance the attractiveness of a Column Mailbox. A powder coated mailbox that is unscratched and well maintained can have a life span of one hundred years.
Handcrafted Solid Brass Mailbox
The antique brass Column Mailboxes are handcrafted in solid brass and offer a stylish custom appearance. They include an antique brass door and handle and are accessed from the front of the mailbox. Antique brass column mailboxes are approved for USPS residential door mail delivery.
USPS Approved Column Mailboxes
All of our Column Mailboxes are approved for use by the United States Postal  Service (USPS) and may be used for residential door mail delivery. This approval is important because every mailbox, letterbox or receptacle that is to be used for the delivery of postage paid mail must comply with the standards established by the USPS.
