Locker Room Shower Columns are excellent solutions for locations that have or need a large commercial shower room. This group shower product makes very efficient use of space and offers great design flexibility. In addition, there are numerous options available that can further enhance the use of limited space. These columns are frequently found in schools, universities, manufacturing facilities, recreational locations, and sports facilities.
Commercial Group Shower facilities often incorporate Locker Room Shower Columns. Besides the benefits of space efficiency and design flexibility there are a number of other features associated with columns. They are installed using a single water supply for each column that serves from two to six users. This reduces overall installation and construction costs. Columns also have very easy access for plumbing maintenance. Most column models are preassembled to reduce labor costs for the customer. And a group shower facility using columns will be able to serve more users in a shorter time frame. Another very important feature is that columns are an excellent choice for remodeling jobs. Columns will simply by-pass existing and worn valves and piping which will save the building owner a significant amount of repair costs.
Locker Room Shower Columns are available in several different models. The freestanding model is constructed of a stainless steel column and anchored to the floor by its own cast iron drain. The cast iron drain is set in wet concrete in the floor. The freestanding models are unique in that they make use of the center of the shower area. Other shower models are attached to walls but the freestanding models utilize the available space in the center areas. Freestanding columns allow the building owner to maximize the number of shower stations in a given shower space. The drains can be and are usually vented through the column fixture and into vent pipes in the ceiling. Water supplies can be routed through the floor or ceiling. The overhead pipes can be concealed with shrouds.
Another model of Locker Room Shower Columns is designed for pools and beaches. It has the same basic design as the freestanding model except that one of the showerheads is replaced by a foot spray. This feature is particularly useful at beaches where users can wash sand off their feet and avoid tracking sand into interior spaces.
Locker Room Shower Columns are built from corrosion resistant materials. All exposed parts are either type 304 stainless steel or polished chrome plated brass. The column is constructed of sixteen gauge type 304 stainless steel. The column cap is the same type and gauge of stainless steel. The valve manifold is constructed from cast brass and the drain fitting is cast iron. All supply inlets are copper tubing. The showerheads are designed to flow at a standard rate of two gallons per minute. There may be some variation in the flow rate but it will not exceed two and one half gallons per minute. The base flange is thirteen gauge stainless steel. There is an access panel located near the bottom of the column and each station on the column is equipped with a stainless steel soap tray.
