Our Perforated Roll Form Bench is a combination of subtle beauty and extreme durability.  The rolled steel seat and back ends help to eliminate pressure points and therefore provide for a more relaxing moment of rest. This bench can be found at parks, gardens, schools, retail malls, residential decks, and on busy sidewalks.  It gets its name from the perforated steel that is used for the seat and back and the manufacturing process. The manufacturing process is called “roll form” or rollforming and it is a continuous bending operation whereby a strip of metal (the perforated steel) is passed through a set of rolls (bending equipment) until the final result is obtained.  Rollforming is a relatively simple manufacturing process and therefore can produce products at a more reasonable price.

The Perforated Roll Form Bench is constructed from eleven gauge steel with 1/2 inch holes on staggered centers 1 inch apart. The perforated steel that has been roll formed is then welded onto the frame and cast iron legs of the bench.  The perforated steel allows water, rain, and snow to pass through. And the legs have pre-drilled holes for easier mounting.  The bench is offered in three standard lengths but customized lengths can be ordered.  The standard lengths are four, six, and eight feet.  The weighs of each length are two hundred and forty-five, two hundred and eighty-five, and three hundred and twenty pounds respectively.  This bench is designed and built for high use and high abuse locations.  It is extremely strong and durable and very difficult to damage.

The Perforated Roll Form Bench is covered with an attractive and very durable thermoplastic coating. This coating, also known as powder coating, is a plastic or plastic-epoxy covering that is far superior to the methods and coverings of the past.  Thermoplastic coatings are environmentally safe and produce little to no hazardous waste.  The process begins by giving the dry powder and the metal opposite electrical charges.  The dry powder is “blown” onto the metal and adheres firmly due to the electrical bond. The metal product is then “baked” and the dry powder forms an extremely tight bond with the metal. This tight bond protects the metal from rust, corrosion, and the harshness of the elements. The thickness of the coating is usually 25 to 30 millimeters and the surface is smooth and virtually flawless.  The coating will not crack or peel and it can be easily repaired if it is damaged.  An industrial heat gun is used to apply heat to the damaged area, and the coating will melt slightly and rebind itself.  Spray paint and other graffiti can be cleaned off with a standard industrial cleaner because paint and markers have very poor adhesion to thermoplastic coatings. Overall the thermoplastic coating is almost maintenance free and will protect the metal for decades.

There are basically three mounting options available for the Perforated Roll Form Bench. The first, portable mounting, is simply placing the bench on a flat surface without any form of attachment. The advantage of the portable mount is that the bench can be moved quickly and easily.  The second mounting option, surface mount, is usually done in areas where the bench will rest on a firm, flat surface such as concrete or tile.  Holes are drilled into the concrete and anchors are inserted into the holes.  The bench can then be bolted to the anchors.  The third mounting method, in-ground mount, is usually reserved for outdoor locations where the bench will rest on grass or soil in a fixed, permanent location.  Leg extensions must be welded or bolted to the bench legs and then lowered into excavated holes in the ground.  Concrete is then poured into the hole to permanently mount the bench.

The Perforated Roll Form Bench can be ordered in sixteen colors which include black, red, orange, yellow, green, bk-green, teal, blue, navy, purple, burgundy, brown, beige, sandstone, gray, and granite.
