 Our Ribbons and Rings Metal Bench incorporates a new ring pattern with our very popular roll form bench. The horizontal rings or circles in the bench back give this bench a unique visual appeal. Some may describe this as the “retro look” and others may use the term “contemporary.” Regardless, it is a distinctive motif that gives the bench an inherent attractiveness. This bench will soon be seen in park areas, garden areas, convention centers, sidewalks, schools, and residential homes.
The Ribbons and Rings Metal Bench is constructed from eleven gauge steel strips which are roll formed and welded to the frame. These steel strips form the back and seat of the bench. Roll form refers to the manufacturing process where the steel is incrementally bent by a succession of rolls or bending machines. When the steel is bent into its final shape it can then be welded to the frame of the bench. What makes this bench unique is that a horizontal row of rings or circles is placed in the center of the bench back. This ring design is an inherent part of the bench and adds a bit of visual flair. The bench is manufactured in three standard sizes of four, six, and eight foot lengths. The four foot bench weighs two hundred and forty-five pounds and the six foot bench weighs two hundred sixty-five pounds. The eight foot bench weighs three hundred pounds. Customized bench lengths can be ordered if desired. A matchingreceptacle is available and sold separately.
Like most metal benches, the Ribbons and Rings Metal Bench can be mounted in a number of different ways. The simplest way is to let the bench rest on a surface without any mounting or attachments. This method is called a portable mount because it is very easy to move the bench from location to location. Another common mounting method, called surface mount, is usually done on hard surfaces such as concrete. The bench has pre-drilled holes at the base of leg to make this mounting easier. However, holes must be drilled in the concrete surface and anchors inserted into the holes. Once the anchors are inserted the bench legs can be bolted to the anchors. When a permanent outdoor location is desired the in-ground mount is utilized. This mounting method requires leg extensions to be welded or bolted to the legs. These leg extensions are inserted into excavated holes in the ground. Wet concrete is then poured into the holes and when dry, the leg extensions are firmly held in place.
The Ribbons and Rings Metal Bench is covered with an extremely durable thermoplastic coating. This coating, also referred to as powder coating, is now the standard coating used for outdoor (and indoor) furniture because of its many advantages. It is applied in an electrical process that creates a very strong bond between the dry powder coating and the metal. The metal is then “baked” and the powder coating becomes a tightly adhering “skin” that will not peel or crack. The thermoplastic coating will protect the entire surface area of the metal object from rust and corrosion. It is also very easy to repair. Simply heat the damaged area with an industrial heat gun and the coating will melt slightly and rebind itself. An added bonus is that the thermoplastic coating is virtually maintenance free and if vandalized with spray paint it can be very easily cleaned. And of course, the thermoplastic coating is very attractive and available in sixteen colors. The Ribbons and Rings Metal Bench is available in black, red, orange, yellow, green, bk-green, teal, blue, navy, purple, burgundy, brown, beige, sandstone, gray, and granite.
