Most models offer four legs for maximum support and the most common mounting options are portable, surface, and in-ground, mount.  Portable mounting is simply placing the furniture in a location without any attachments to the ground or floor. It is frequently used when theft is not a concern and when the furniture is moved on a regular basis.  Surface mounting is frequently used on a flat hard surface such as tile or concrete.  Mounting holes must be drilled into the tile and/or concrete for the installation of mounting hardware.  The furniture that will be surface mounted would have been ordered with this mounting method in mind and will have mounting brackets attached to or as part of the legs.  The legs can then be bolted to the mounting hardware in the concrete.  In-ground mounting is popular for outdoor locations on grass or dirt.  Usually holes are dug into the ground and concrete is poured into the holes. The furniture will have leg extensions that will be placed in the wet concrete.  Once the concrete has cured then the furniture is permanently located and very, very difficult to dig up and steal.  Some manufacturers offer powder-coated grout covers for a more finished look at ground installation points.
