Different models are designed to accommodate light, medium, and heavy-duty hand washing needs that range from the academic world to the industrial and manufacturing world. These hand washing stations are available in four material choices, with each option offering unique performance advantages for specific type of environments.
On the lower end of the price spectrum, we have the Bradstone™ Multi-Station Wash Fountain. Bradstone™ is a proprietary plastic material manufactured by Bradley Corporation. It consists of finely ground inorganic fillers, fade resistant pigments, and reinforced, thermosetting polyester resin. While it is not vandal resistant, it is very durable in the face of normal wear and tear.
Its chief benefit, aside from lower costs, is the preassembled pedestal and valve set. This makes it much easier to install in an existing restroom, which is why it has become the preferred model for retrofit applications in restroom remodels and renovations.
Bradstone™ washfountains are popular in repair shops and manufacturing facilities. The juvenile size also makes them ideally suited to elementary schools with a low risk of vandalism. Bradstone™ is chemically resistant but should not be cleaned with abrasive cleaners.
We have two different model types of stainless steel semi-circular wash stations for commercial bathrooms. Stainless steel is incredibly durable, with a classic appearance that compliments a wide range of interior architectures. Its resistance to moisture, corrosion, vandalism, and microbial buildup account for its higher costs.
Our Sentry® Shallow Bowl Wash Fountain is ideally suited for food, medical, and printing facilities with light to medium hand washing requirements. It is also popular in many small equipment repair shops. The Sentry® model is stain resistant and takes only minutes to clean after a long day’s work. One advantage that it offers over most other models is its ADA compliance. This makes it highly suitable for smaller buildings whose restrooms may have too little wall space to install a separate, barrier free lavatory for disabled persons.
We also have stainless steel semi-circular wash stations for commercial bathrooms that require a deeper bowl design for heavy duty handwashing needs. These units can be built with two different bowl sizes to accommodate either 3 or 4 users. Bowl depth is 9”. This is very practical fixture for larger repair shops, print houses, and stadiums that have sufficient wall space to install separate ADA compliant lavatories.
When vandalism is likely, we recommend terrazzo semi-circular wash station for commercial bathrooms with heavy traffic and high levels of equipment abuse. Terrazzo is admittedly the heaviest material of the four, but its cost is less than that of stainless steel. Terrazzo presents an aesthetically pleasing appearance for commercial restrooms in factories, bus stations, airports, and sports stadiums. Terrazzo is also a good choice for high risk public school campuses where vandalism is rampant. It can be ordered in standard height for older children or juvenile height for younger children. While the material itself is very difficult to damage, the finish on the bowl may need to be retouched after long periods of heavy usage. Also, terrazzo can only be cleaned with nonabrasive cleaners.
 For heavy-duty handwashing needs, we recommend the Terreon® Extra Height 54” Multi-Station Wash Fountain. This semi-circular wash station for commercial bathrooms can accommodate up to 5 users. It is the only heavy duty washfountain that is also ADA compliant. In factory, stadium and medical research restrooms where users have to wash up to their elbows in a deeper bowl, and where there is not enough room to install a barrier free lavatory for wheelchair access, this is the best option to choose.
