The Slatted Metal Players Bench uses a slatted steel seat which is welded to an understructure or frame.  The slats are rectangular holes in the seat which allow ventilation and eliminate the pooling of water.  There are two bench legs and each one splays outward to form the feet of the bench.  Pre-drilled mounting holes are located on the bench feet.  The simple design of the bench and the slatted seat help reduce the overall weight of the bench.  The bench is offered in three standard lengths of four, six, and eight feet.  However, other lengths can be custom ordered. The four foot bench weighs eighty-five pounds while the six foot bench weighs one hundred pounds.  The eight foot bench weighs one hundred and twenty pounds.  This bench also offers the option of purchasing anti-skateboard tabs, which deter skaters and keeps them away from your tables and benches.

The Slatted Metal Players Bench has three basic mounting options available. The portable mount is the simplest and consists of allowing the bench to rest on any surface without attachments. The bench is therefore very mobile and can be relocated with ease if desired by the owner.  However, given the bench’s  relatively light weight, this mounting option also puts the bench at risk of theft. A second mounting option, called surface mount, is usually used on a hard, flat surface such as concrete or tile.  The pre-drilled holes in the bench’s feet make this mounting easier.  However holes must be drilled in the concrete or tile surface and bolt anchors must be inserted in the holes.  Then the bench can be bolted to the anchors just below the floor surface.  The third mounting option, in-ground mount, is usually done in an outdoor area where the bench will be permanently located on grass or soil. Leg extensions must be welded or bolted to the legs and then lowered into holes that have been dug into the ground.  The holes will then be filled with wet concrete.  Once the concrete has dried the bench can not be moved without considerable effort.

The Slatted Metal Players Bench is protected by an extremely durable thermoplastic coating, also known as a powder coating. This coating is a more technologically advanced protection method than the coatings and paints of the past.  Powder coating is applied to the metal using an electrical process whereby the dry powder and the metal are given opposite electrical charges. When the powder coating is blown onto the metal it adheres very tightly. The metal is then “baked” and the powder coating binds more tightly like a “skin.”  This coating is actually a durable but slightly flexible plastic or plastic-epoxy.  It will protect the metal from rust and corrosion for many years.  It will not peel or crack and it is virtually maintenance free.  Since spray paint will not adhere to powder coatings very well, it is very easy to clean spray paint from benches.  And these coatings are very easy to repair if ever damaged or cut.  An industrial heat gun is used to heat the coating and it will slightly melt and rebind itself.  The repaired area is virtually unnoticeable.  The Slatted Metal Players Bench is available in a variety of colors that include black, red, orange, yellow, green, bk-green, teal, blue, navy, purple, burgundy, brown, beige, sandstone, gray, and granite.
