The Terrazzo Corner-Fount™ Lavatory is our latest innovative design for space-saving lavatories.  It will service one or two users simultaneously from its corner location in a restroom.  Because of its corner configuration, it will save space as compared to two lavatories with conventional faucets. It also utilizes all of the latest technological design features that will offer the building owner savings on energy and water. This intelligently designed corner lavatory is suitable for a wide variety of commercial or institutional applications including stadiums, schools, and manufacturing facilities.

The Terrazzo Corner-Fount Lavatory is constructed from precast Terrazzo which is 85% stone and 15% binder.  The natural stone of Terrazzo gives it a mosaic-look and it is polished to a high gloss and then sealed with a clear polyurethane resin. To add strength, heavy steel rods are cast into the bowl for reinforcement.  The pedestal panels are also constructed from Terrazzo and they are ground, polished and finished with a clear urethane finish. The front access panel is constructed from heavy gauge stainless steel and is removable only with a special hex key. 

The Terrazzo Corner-Fount Lavatory is extremely vandal resistant. Terrazzo is a very durable material and very difficult to damage.  The entire lavatory is an integrated unit.  The molded sprayhead is part of the bowl and all escutcheons and infrared sensors are located inside the sprayhead module. All of the valves, water supplies, and waste water connections are not accessible to the public because they are located inside the lavatory and the lavatory pedestal.

TheTerrazzo Corner-Fount Lavatory can operate with water pressures between 20 and 80 pounds per square inch. The lavatory has flow regulators that will keep the flow rate constant at any pressure within this range.  In addition, a water saving flow restrictor keeps the flow rate at a constant ˝ gallon per minute.  The sprayhead module, which is preassembled, is equipped with two independent streamformers which give the lavatory the ability to service two users simultaneously.  Each of the streamformers is controlled by a separate infrared sensor-actuated solenoid valve.  This lavatory model is available with air metering valve control, infrared control, and TouchTime® metering control.

Cleaning the Terrazzo Corner-Fount Lavatory is a routine process.  It can be cleaned as often as needed with any standard cleanser or detergent, warm water, and a soft cloth. Do NOT use acid or alkaline solutions because they can damage the surface of the Terrazzo bowl.  If the bowl appears hazy then it probably was in contact with an acid or alkaline chemical.  It can be repaired relatively easily with a Terrazzo repair kit.

In 2007 a study by researchers for the American Society of Microbiology demonstrated that only 77% of people actually wash their hands after using a public restroom.  Another study by the Minnesota Department of Health in 2003 and 2004 found that only 75% of women and 51% of men washed their hands after using a public restroom.  When study participants where asked why they did not wash their hands they tended to place the blame on the restroom conditions.  The most frequent complaints were, sinks were not working, wash area appeared unclean, sink area was crowded, and lack of supplies such as soap.  Building owners and managers should note the results of these and other studies because customers who are dissatisfied with restroom facilities will return to that location less often.  This has important implications for retail businesses in particular.  It would be a serious marketing mistake to lose customers because of dirty restrooms.

The Terrazzo Corner-Fount Lavatory is Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) approved through the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO).  It is also a barrier-free ADA compliant lavatory.
