Terreon Wash
Fountains get their name from the unique material used to construct the
bowls of the wash fountains. Terreon is a durable material made from polyester
resin. TerreonRE is a similar material but it is composed of a bio-based resin
and preconsumer recycled granules. Both surface materials are resistant to
stains, burns, chemicals, and impact. If their surfaces are damaged they can be
easily repaired with common cleaners or fine grit abrasives such as sandpaper.
Both materials emit little or no toxic elements during production and are
therefore certified as GREENGUARD low-emitting materials.
Terreon Wash Fountains are
commonly chosen when a deep bowl design is desired. These deep bowl designs are utilized for
moderate to heavy duty hand washing. They are well designed for efficient
washing of heavily soiled hands and arms.
The majority of these bowl designs are not ADA compliant except for those that have water
activation via infrared sensors.
These Terreon bowls are mid priced and relatively light in weight. They
weigh about one-third the weight of Terrazzo, a natural stone and resin
material. Common applications for these types of wash fountains are
manufacturing facilities, retrofit upgrades, repair facilities, stadiums, and
schools.
Terreon Wash Fountains are also commonly chosen when a
multi-fount faucet design is desired.
Multi-founts are specifically designed for light to moderate duty hand
washing applications that also require ADA compliance. They can handle two to four
users simultaneously depending on the model. They also feature low flow rates of
0.5
gallons per minute and water conservation because of the
use of infrared sensors to activate and de-activate water flow. Multi-founts are
used with shallow bowls and Terreon is an attractive choice for these bowls.
Terreon has a granite appearance and it tends to hide water spots and soap
residue. The multi-fount faucets and Terreon bowls have smooth lines and a
limited number of joints which make them relatively easy to clean. The Terreon bowls have a wide variety of
colors available while TerreonRE has a more limited selection of colors. In
addition, this combination of bowl and faucet is very vandal
resistant.
Terreon Wash
Fountains that utilize a multi-fount faucet and shallow Terreon bowl have
numerous light to moderate hand washing applications. They are frequently found in schools,
universities, highway rest areas, athletic facilities, convention centers, and
industrial facilities that require only light or moderate hand washing.
Terreon Wash Fountains
offer a winning combination of beauty, vandal resistance, low
maintenance, easy cleaning, and a moderate price. Terreon and TerreonRE are NAHB
certified to meet various standards including ANSI Z124.3, Z124.6 and ANSI/ICPA
SS-1-2001. The Terreon material can
be molded into both deep and shallow bowls. The bowls can be combined with almost
any faucet system to meet light, moderate, or heavy duty hand washing needs.
Bowls and faucets can be combined to meet ADA compliance needs also. Wash fountains with
Terreon bowls are durable and resistant damage from impacts, burns, stains,
chemicals, and vandals. This
material can be easily repaired with abrasive cleaners or fine grit sandpaper.
And their granite-like appearance
makes them very popular with customers.
