The key benefit that the ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet shower offers to physically challenged persons is the heliarc welded shower seat.  This set is made of Type 304, 16 gauge stainless steel.  The seat is hinged so that it can be folded up when it is not being used.  A bullet type catch holds the folded seat securely in position so a user who does not require the seat can stand in the cabinet without impediment.  The frame that holds the seat is made of 1 inch diameter type 304, 18 gauge stainless steel tubing.   The seat is comfortable and safe because it is made with rounded corners.  Its exposed surfaces also feature an attractive, architectural satin finish.

Along with shower seats, ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet showers also feature grab bars.  Physically challenged individuals can maneuver themselves safely within the confines of the cabinet by gripping these ergonomically designed bars.  They are ideal for getting onto the shower seat and give the user something to brace himself or herself against when folding the seat back in place.  This ease of movement is made possible by the intermediate contour supports that are cut and joined by heliarc welding.  The welds are ground and smoothed to make the supports integral components of the grab bar tubing.  Safety clearance between the interior of the bar tubing and the cabinet walls is 1 and 1 half inches.  This grab bar design not only complies with VA and FHA standards, but it actually exceeds them.

There are two types of valve options that facilities can choose for their ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet showers.  Both valve types are chase located. 

The first valve configuration is a single temperature, air metering valve that operates on a 5 to 60 second timing cycle.  This valve can only be adjusted from the chase side of the unit. 

The second valve configuration is a timed touch push button circuit array that controls water flow by sending an electrical signal to open or shut solenoid valves.  Timing is electronically governed in intervals of 60 seconds. 

ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet showers can be installed as free standing industrial showers or they can be wall mounted with optional wall anchors.  The receptor pan is reinforced for stability and features a non-skid surface.  All other interior and exterior cabinet surfaces feature a satin architectural finish.
