Multi-Purpose Restroom Dispensers

May 31st, 2011 by

Multi-purpose restroom dispensers create convenience for restroom users with all-in-one functionality that saves on space.

Architects also install these fixtures in restaurants, recreation facilities, and offices where these dispensers are installed for end-user convenience and ADA compliance.

Multi-purpose restroom dispensers are made from type 304 stainless steel with an all-welded construction.

They resist bacterial buildup corrosion. Doors resist wear and tear with full length piano hinges. Mirrors are made from one quarter inch, number one quality glass mirror.

Soap and towel dispenser units are found in low use washrooms in office buildings.

People in these buildings have very few breaks and the restrooms are small and only infrequently visited. There is often a large mirror spanning the wall that everyone shares. People only need combo dispensers that give them soap and paper towels.

Multi-purpose restroom dispensers in health care patient rooms need to be ADA compliant and provide storage for basic supplies.

Storage cabinets with mirrors can be used to keep gauze and aspirin. Mirror cabinets can also be purchased that have full medical cabinets with organized compartments.

Examination rooms use multi-purpose restroom dispensers because of sanitation.

Mirror units with storage cabinets can be used here too. Because different types of examination rooms perform different types of care, some models we sell have interior shelves with small capacity towel cabinets, cup dispensers, and stainless steel doors instead of mirrors.

Mirrors can be made from of float glass, or number eight stainless steel. Adjustable tilt mirrors are also available.

Single-user restrooms in small restaurants, stores, rest areas, and even low cost motels can be built with multipurpose dispensers that function in very small areas as all in one units.

For instance, a motel room restroom can have a custom unit with a mirror, a towel dispenser, a cup holder, and internal shelf space for personal storage.

XPB Locker can order and customize any Bradley multi-purpose restroom dispenser to meet specific architectural needs of any new construction of remodel.

Stainless steel material build ensures lasting performance. Contemporary satin finish, along with colored laminates, guarantees any type of interior decor can be complemented with our products.

Cell Phone Storage Lockers

May 31st, 2011 by
Share

Cell phone storage lockers help prevent personal cell phone abuse during work and school time. People have begun to use texting and Internet phone capabilities as a substitute for face to face interaction. We do not try to limit what people do with their own time in a bar, a bus stop, a coffee shop, or of all things, a nature park.

However, employers and educators do have a right to protect work time from cell phone abuse on the part of employees and students. So widespread is this problem becoming that we recommend that every organization consider purchasing cell phone lockers simply to improve the focus of workers and students who may be tempted to focus on the Internet or texting when they should be doing other things.

One entity that definitely needs such control is the government. Even an idle conversation made in complete innocence of malice may divulge confidential information through a text message. The security risk goes up as you go up higher in the levels of government. However, the problem is easily solved by having every government worker check his or her personal cell phone in a cell phone storage locker at the beginning of the work day.

Public schools and colleges should also make it a policy to have students store their phones in a cell phone storage locker. It’s not like the phone can’t still be used for an “emergency” if necessary. However, it is kept away from the student during instructional time. Both distractions caused by personal texting and cheating that often occurs via text is eliminated this way.

Offices should also invest in cell phone storage lockers to keep their employees from using work time for personal communications. While phone systems and personal computers can be strictly monitored, cell phones are wireless and beyond the control of IT directors and busy managers who cannot walk the floor all the time.

Storing the device in a safe place is the best way to keep the device from being abused.

All cell phone storage lockers are big enough to store more than just cell phones. In fact, they make ideal all purpose employee storage lockers for other types of electronics and personal valuables. Cell phone lockers use combination locks that give the employee or student personal access to the locker. There is also a master key that managers and instructors can use to override the combination lock if necessary.

Shower Systems for Factory Restroom Design

May 26th, 2011 by
Share

Factory restroom design requires shower systems that are easy to install, conserve water, and serve as many users in as little time as possible. That is why all commercial showers sold by XPB Locker Supply ship preassembled from the factory.

Column showers are often chosen by architects when they have room in the center of the bathroom to install a group shower. A freestanding column shower can anchor directly to the concrete floor. It includes its own cast iron drain.

As it draws water from a single source, it supplies that water to multiple users through separate shower heads. Alternatively, if piping through the floor is not practical, pipes in the ceiling can be used, and shrouds can conceal the overhead piping. Privacy stalls can be erected between shower heads to give each employee a personal shower stall.

In high-pressure manufacturing facilities, time is of the essence to get products shipped to market by deadline. Factory restroom design in these environments calls for shower systems that will service the most users in the least amount of time. Wall showers are ideal for this purpose. Each panel contains multiple spray heads supplied by a single water source. Water pressure is determined by the pressure in the pipes. In addition to being ideal for very busy production environments, wall-mounted Panelon showers are also recommended for many factory restroom remodels. This is because worn-out valves and pipes can be bypassed to supply water to the shower system without tearing out entire sections of the wall.

In manufacturing environments where overhead costs run extremely high, the conservation of water resources is vital to buttressing profit margins. Industrial showers for factory restroom design in these plants need to serve as many users as possible without wasting water. We recommend Bradley Econo Wall Showers for this. This is a two or three station shower system that ships preassembled from the factory. It surface mounts to the wall in stainless steel housing. One source of water supplies the entire unit through copper tube supply inlets, which in turn supply water to shower heads. The unit can be connected to the water source either through the top cover or through the back of the assembly.

Econo Wall Showers are also very compact. They are better suited to commercial bathroom walls with limited space. Partitions can be placed between shower heads to provide privacy to users.

In commercial bathrooms with more open space, however, users may want larger personal shower stalls. The wall-saver shower is the best shower system to order for this factory restroom design. It features the same engineering design as the Econo Wall Shower Assembly. However, it is a wider unit, and it covers more of the bathroom wall. Placing partitions between the shower heads on this assembly will create much larger shower stalls.

Football Lockers

May 23rd, 2011 by
Share

Stadium style, wood open access football lockers can be used by academic and NFL football teams. Stadium lockers give players more storage area than other types of lockers. They also let players better organize their uniforms and equipment so they can quickly suit up for practice and games. .

Each locker has five separate storage areas that provide ideal storage locations for different pieces of clothing and equipment

At the very top of the football locker, there is a wide, flat shelf. The player can store his helmet here, along with extra pairs of shoes, gloves, or mouthpieces. Basically, anything the player puts on right before hitting the field can be neatly arranged and quickly retrieved from this shelf.

The second storage area in the football locker is a security box and an adjacent cubby area. The security box has plenty of room to store all the player’s valuables. The cubby area is about the same size and is good for storing mouth guards, gloves, and smaller pads for wrists, elbows, and even forearms. You can even put a bottle of sports drink here if you like.

The middle section of the football locker is its most important and useful feature. This section is a spacious, closet-like area with a coat hook on the left side wall and a coat rod that stretches across the top. The coat rod provides the player with plenty of room to hang several practice jerseys and pants, along with the official game uniform he wears. Everything can be neatly arranged so that game uniforms remain wrinkle free and look great for the National Anthem.

There is also a lot of room in this middle; open middle storage area that gives the football player all the room he needs to store protective pads for the game. Everything from shoulder pads to lumbar pads and knee pads can be stacked here. Many players just put the pads in a stack nestled in the corner so they can pull off the top of the stack so that what they need to wear can be pulled off the top in the order they are needed.

The bottom section of the football locker is a foot locker that dual functions as a small players bench the football player can sit on while he puts on his socks and shoes. It can hold several pairs of shoes and socks, and it can store weather gear like thermal underwear, hand warmers, thermal socks, cold weather cream, and muffs.

Baseball Locker

May 19th, 2011 by
Share

Wood baseball lockers more space than most competing locker types. As open access storage units, they provide a place for every article of clothing and piece equipment to be stored and retrieved easily when needed.

Baseball lockers are divided into five storage areas. The first area is a top shelf that the very top of gives the player an ideal spot for storing a batting helmet, along with other items like spare pairs of shoes and an extra baseball mitt.

The next area just under the top shelf is two adjacent storage units. One is a locked security box for valuables. The other is an open cubby section. Most players store baseball mitts, wrist guards, and sports drinks here.

The main storage area is a large middle section for storing clothing and equipment. On the left side of this area, near the top, is a coat hook that is ideal for hanging the player’s baseball cap. The middle section of the baseball locker also has a coat rod spanning the top. It gives the player lots of room for several practice jerseys and pants. It also has plenty of room for the official game uniform.

In the back corner of this large, closet-like section, a player can also store a baseball bat. Catchers normally store their specialized gear in this area too. Everything from protective gloves, shine guards, knee savers, and chest protectors are kept here. Some catchers also place their masks here, but others prefer to keep it on the top shelf so they can reach up and put it on after donning the rest of their gear.

The baseball locker has a foot locker with a closing door at the very bottom. This section gives a player a special place to store several pairs of shoes and socks. One very unique feature of this foot locker is it can also be used as a small bench.

Professional and college baseball teams, of course, have locker room benches for seating. However, many small leagues all over the country have very little locker room space. Having a bench built into a locker saves a league a great deal of money.

Baseball lockers are made from ¾ inch red oak plywood. To make the wood moisture resistant, it is coated with 3 coats of catalyzed lacquer clear finish. The foot locker is louvered to provide constant air flow to the interior so that socks and shoes can be kept dry and odor free.

Hockey Lockers

May 17th, 2011 by

Wooden, open-access hockey lockers give hockey players of all ages plenty of room to store every piece of equipment. Players can neatly hang up their uniforms in a space open to the air that keeps them dry. There is also more than enough room to store protective gear and the player’s hockey stick.

The locker features five specific storage sections that allow the player to organize everything at his fingertips.

The top of the locker is actually a shelf where the player can store his helmet. This is very convenient, because after he finishes suiting up, all he has to do is reach up, grab the helmet, and strap it on. He can also store extra skates here, or even a few pucks for solo practice on the ice.

Underneath this shelf, the hockey locker has a security box on the left and a cubby storage area of approximately the same size on the right. The security box locks so the player can protect personal valuables while he is out on the ice. The cubby storage compartment is useful for storing smaller pieces of gear like mouth guards, gloves, and neck guards.

The premier feature of the stadium style hockey locker, however, is its large middle storage area. This section is built much like a closet, only without a door. It has a coat hook on the left and a coat rod that spans the top of the unit. This coat rod is long enough and sturdy enough to hang up jerseys, padded shorts or Breezers, and even should pads. The player can store elbow pads, knee pads, and leg guards against the back wall of the middle section and lean the stick in the corner.

Hockey lockers also come with a built in foot locker located below the open middle storage area. This foot locker unit has a unique feature that is particularly convenient for hockey players. It not only provides more than enough room for socks and skates, but it also is angled in the front in a manner that lets the player turn around and use it as a small bench when he laces on his skates.

While it is true that pro hockey players have fully furnished locker rooms with player’s benches, we have to remember that there are all sorts of community hockey leagues and little league hockey organizations that may not have the money to build large, fully furnished locker rooms. For these organizations on limited budgets, or those that face room size limitations, hockey lockers with a built in player’s bench are a great way to save money on building costs and still meet the needs of players of any age group or level of skill.

Wash Basins

May 16th, 2011 by
Share

Wash basins give you many benefits that sinks do not. One wash fountain is equal to anywhere from two to eight sinks. This means you spend less money on installation because there is only a single fixture with a single water supply and drainage system.

You also spend less money on heating because of this single water source that provides warm water to multiple people. For buildings looking to save money on electricity, this is an important point to consider when choosing between washfountains and lavatories.

You can also better manage your cleaning cost when you invest in wash basins because they have only a single bowl to clean out. In a large facility where things get dirty quickly, this will keep cleaning crews on schedule and avert the cost of overtime.

Still another benefit you get from hand wash fountains is a better utilization of your existing floor plan. You can choose between circular, semi-circular, and corner unit to make the best use of space in even the tightest of spaces..

Consistently high sales of wash basins have shown us that end users like these units just as much as architects and building managers.

Wash fountains are easier for people to get to in high traffic environments. Many are also ADA compliant in accordance with the most strict of recent regulations. With or without ADA adaptations, however, they simply provide better access per square foot than competing lavatories do. For this reason, you see washing fountains used more and more by sports stadiums, public schools, and manufacturing plants nationwide.

You can better customize your facility with wash basins because there are so many control options, specific types, and specific materials ideally suited for different environments.

For instance, stainless steel is the best choice for factories where workers have to wash chemicals off their hands and forearms.

Terreon® is a highly vandal resistant substance ideally suited for areas like stadiums and schools where some individuals may be tempted to do something mischievous.

Bradstone, which is a synthetic material invented by Bradley Corporation, is another heavy duty material that is very cost effective, light weight, and easy to repair if damaged.

If you want a high-end look for superior interior décor, invest in Terrazo. It has been a mainstay, luxury, natural material for decades and now represents the most decorative options in hand wash fountain design for facilities that need an aesthetic touch.

Wash basins also let you choose how the water flow is controlled. Some come with foot pedals. Others use a push button to air meter controlled water measurements. Still others use touch-free infrared controls for maximum sanitation requirements. Your XPB Locker account representative can help you decide which control option best meets the needs of your users and your available purchasing budget.

Soccer Lockers

May 12th, 2011 by

If you are a serious soccer player, you need a soccer locker that lets you organize your uniform and equipment in a way that keeps your clothing neat and wrinkle free, and that places all of your gear at your fingertips. It also helps to have a place to safely store your valuables, and to have a place to sit when you put on your footwear.

You will find that wooden stadium open access lockers meet every one of your needs. Combining the best in looks and functionality, their design offers you four special storage sections, ideal for teams of any league, age, school, or professional organization.

The main section of the locker has a coat hook and large coat rod that lets you hang several practice uniforms, plus your official game uniform, all neatly, side by side. You also have room for goalie jerseys and shorts if you are goalie. If you are a coach or a referee responsible for setting up a small soccer field with cones, you can neatly stack cones on top of one another and store them in the back corner of this section of the locker.

Your soccer locker also has two special compartments right above the uniform storage area. The left compartment is a locking security box where you can store all your valuables. If you are a referee, you can also use this to store your notepad, flags, stopwatch, and other referee gear.

Next to the security box is an open cubby where you can store goalie gloves, sports drinks, or bottled water.

Right above this, on the very top of your soccer locker, is an open shelf that gives you the perfect place to store a practice soccer ball and a pair of lace up soccer shoes. You can also store an extra pair of shin guards here for quick access.

A truly remarkable feature of your soccer locker is the closed foot locker section at the very bottom. This special locker is the perfect place to store your best pair of soccer boots. It also gives you plenty of room for several pair of shin guards and socks. When you need to sit down and put your footgear on, the top of this foot locker section extends far enough out to function as a convenient players bench.

Soccer lockers are made from the highest quality redwood plywood with a three coat lacquer finish to make it super moisture resistant. Lockers can be customized with locks on the foot locker storage for extra security, and they can be customized with team logos for academic and professional soccer organizations.

Restroom Partitions for Office Buildings

May 10th, 2011 by
Share

Different types of office buildings require different types of restroom partitions. The size, type, and construction budget for a particular type of commercial establish can be used as a guideline for the best style and partition material to select for any given project.

There are four main mounting styles for bathroom partitions and several material options ranging from the low end to the high end. Let’s look at mounting style first.

The most popular style is the floor mounted, overhead ceiling braced style. The primary anchor for the divider is in the floor, with a secondary anchor provided by a brace that runs along the ceiling and attaches to the wall. This is recommended for restrooms that see a lot of traffic throughout the day.

Toilet dividers in very high traffic restrooms may need even more reinforcement. As long as the ceiling measures 10 feet high or less, a floor and ceiling mount will give the entire restroom partition assembly maximum rigidity in the face of constant use.

Floor mounted restroom partitions are needed in ceilings higher than 10 feet. They require a 3 inch concrete base beneath the floor to install. They are also easier to clean because they do not have the overhead piece stretching to the ceiling.

Ceiling hung partitions have to be used in very small restrooms where the ceilings are lower than 8 feet. They make it easy to clean the floor in cramped quarters.

If partitions or being purchased for a remodeling project, architects may be limited in their choices based upon the nature of the floor or ceiling. Ceiling hung partitions required the ceiling to be reinforced in order to install.

The materials that restroom partitions are actually made from range in price considerably. Choosing a material should be based upon the nature of the building and the available budget for construction.

For small office buildings that are operating on tight construction budgets, baked enamel or plastic laminate partitions work well. Typically these smaller buildings have very small companies, so the restrooms don’t see a great deal of traffic and therefore do not experience as much wear and tear.

Larger buildings will need something sturdier to handle larger numbers of employees. Mid-range price materials for these mid-sized buildings are solid Phenolic and stainless steel. These restroom partitions can withstand heavier usage and offer provide a higher level of décor.

For skyscrapers that are homes to major banks, large financial services companies, and corporate headquarters of major companies, architects will no doubt want the best high-end bathroom partitions that money can buy. These high-end materials include solid plastic that is both highly decorative and super resistant to wear and tear and vandalism. There is also fusion granite for those architects building granite buildings with restrooms with marble and granite countertops.

General Guidelines for Choosing Restroom Partitions

May 5th, 2011 by
Share

Determine how much space you have to work with. Some public restrooms consist of only two or three stalls. Others are designed to accommodate large numbers of people at a time. In smaller bathrooms, floor space may be very limited. Restroom partitions may need to be hung from the ceiling in order to conserve floor space. In larger rooms where heavy traffic is common, floor mounted dividers that are braced in the ceiling may be the best choice. This mounting style offers maximum stability in the face of heavy usage.

In many remodeling projects, though, ceilings may lack the necessary supports to attach a brace to the ceiling. Floor mounted styles and floor mounted overhead braced styles are the only options for these projects.

Determine your budget. It goes without saying that restroom partitions vary in price. The cost of simpler materials like baked enamel and plastic is far less than materials like stainless steel. When funds are extremely limited, baked enamel or basic plastic represent viable options that are easy to clean. They are also durable materials provided they are not subject to constant rough use or deliberate vandalism.

Determine your risk of vandalism. In public schools, bus terminals, and civic buildings, there is always the risk of vandalism.

People target these areas partly because of their ready accessibility, and partly because they are iconic of authoritative power structures which many people perceive to have victimized them. Restroom partitions here need to be composed of the toughest materials that can withstand vandalism from writing implements and sharp-tipped object. Phenolic core toilet dividers and stainless steel are two excellent options for this.

Determine how much décor you require. Some public restrooms are located in establishments that represent the finer side of life. Luxury hotels, art galleries, museums, and symphonic halls are examples. Buildings like these require the most sophisticated materials be used throughout in order to establish aesthetic themes that reinforce the purpose of the establishments. Consequently, even the bathrooms have to look superb.

Determine the level of sterility your facility needs. If you are building a restroom in a health care facility of any kind, you need to ensure maximum sanitation for patients. The biggest threat that any surface area poses to public health is moisture retention. When a surface holds water, it becomes a breeding ground for disease-causing bacteria. Therefore, it is imperative to choose restroom partitions that block the absorption of water completely. This causes water to evaporate too quickly for bacteria to form colonies on the surface.
