Cell Phone Lockers

June 30th, 2011 by
Share

Cell phone lockers are more important than you may realize.  Just because everyone has a cell phone does not mean that cell phones do not still get stolen.  They do.  Internet capable phones and smart phones are tempting items for thieves.

Places like public health clubs can increase their business by investing in cell phone storage lockers and advertising that they have a secure place to keep sophisticated technology safe from humidity and from theft.

There are also certain organizations like the government that require maximum security.  Sensitive information can easily be leaked out through a wireless transmission in text, email, or voice form.

This cannot be permitted for obvious reasons.    Cell phone storage lockers are needed in government buildings to prevent disgruntled employees from abusing the device and leaking confidential information to the press.

There are also some practical concerns related to work ethic that cell phone lockers help office buildings to address.  People know better than to walk around the office talking on their cell phones.  If everyone did this it would quickly be noticed and management would put a stop to it.

However, the obsession with text messaging has taken people from talking and emailing to texting all day on tiny keypads.  Businesses can regulate personal email to prevent its abuse from consuming company time.  However, a wireless device that offers a sneaky means of personal communication can cost a business thousands of dollars per year.  That is, until it is locked up and off limits until the end of the day.

Schools are now investing in cell phone lockers because practically every student brings a cell phone to school.  Like most adults, the students claim they absolutely have to have the device in case of an emergency.  Like most adults, they abuse the device by constantly texting throughout the school day until they are caught by a teacher and the “emergency device” as they call it is confiscated.

Then the parents get angry because they have to come and retrieve the device.  Some schools even charge a fine to parents for cell phone abuse.  Ruffled feathers result from this, and education suffers across the board.

Cell phone lockers stop the problem before it starts by having the student lock his or her emergency device, as he or she likes to call it, in a safe place where it cannot function as a distraction from learning.

So we can see here how both children and adults, no matter how smart they are, need discipline when it comes to the use of their smart toys.  Cell phone lockers provide this discipline and keep the toy safe from harm, damage, or theft.

ADA Welded Barrier Free Stainless Steel Cabinet Showers

June 28th, 2011 by

ADA Welded Barrier Free Stainless Steel Cabinet Showers are great for new constructions where heavy traffic usage is anticipated.  The seamless design is more durable in harsh environments and less likely to need replacement.  All welds are ground smooth to form a contiguous metal surface.  This makes it nearly impossible to destroy the cabinet.  Plus, these are very attractive showers that look good in any environment.  If you want to buy something that will last and meet all accessibility requirements for decades to come, this is the shower system you need to invest in.

The shower seat is one of two very important features that make the ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet shower so user friendly to elderly and physically disabled individuals.  The seat is hinged so you can fold it up when it is not in use, or when it is not needed.  The seat is held in place by a bullet style catch.  The seat frame is manufactured out of 1 inch diameter type 304, 18 gauge stainless steel tubing.   The seat is comfortable and safe because it is made with rounded corners.  It also has an attractive architectural satin finish.

In addition to shower seats, ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet showers are built with grab bars.  Physically challenged and elderly persons can use these to safely maneuver onto and off of the shower.  They can also brace themselves with the bars when manipulating the seat thanks to integral supports welded, ground, and smoothed into the tubing of the bars themselves.  Grab bar designs on Bradley all-welded cabinet shows with seats exceed VA and FHA specifications.

You can choose between two types of valve options for your ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet showersBoth types of valves are chase located.

Your fist option is a single temperature, air metered valve that you control from the chase side of the unit.  It operates has a 5 to 60 second timing cycle.  This is typically used in correctional facilities.

Your second option is a timed touch push button control that uses a circuit array to electronically control solenoid opening and closing.  Electronic timing is set to 60 seconds.

ADA welded barrier free stainless steel cabinet showers can either operate as free standing commercial showers or you can order anchors and mount them to the wall for extra security.   Receptor pans are reinforced with stainless steel between the pan and the floor and have non skid surfaces for safety.  All other surfaces, both inside the cabinet and outside, have an architectural satin finish.

NFL Lockers

June 27th, 2011 by
Share

Open access, wooden NFL lockers offer more storage volume and organizational capacity than other locker designsTo see just how well suited this locker design is for professional football, let’s take a look at how a player might store each piece of his equipment in each of its special storage areas.

For starters, the NFL locker has a flat shelf at the very top that is partly enclosed on both sides by the top side walls of the unit.  Here, the player has plenty of room to store his helmet without risk of damage to his face mask or internal wireless communications device.   The top shelf also gives him enough room to store an extra pair of shoes, gloves, and an extra mouth piece.

Right below this area, NFL locker has two storage areas next to one another.  The first is a locking security box where the player can store personal valuables.  Beside this is an open cubby section that measures approximately the same size as the security box, only this section has no door.  Many pro ball players find it ideal to store the many smaller pieces of equipment that are unique to NFL football.

Examples include player wrist pads, mouth guards, and gloves.  Some players may also store smaller pads here, like those worn on the wrist and neck.  However, putting all this equipment in the cubby storage area can be a tight squeeze.  There is plenty of room for neatly stacking all football pads in the main storage are right below this.   .

This main storage area is the premier feature of NFL lockers.  Designed much like an open closet, it consists of a large interior with a coat hook on the side and a coat rod stretched across the top.  The professional football player has more than enough room to neatly hang a jersey and set of pants on one end of this rod.  This keeps the uniform fresh and wrinkle free for the National Anthem.

This open storage area is also so big that there is more than enough room for any NFL player to stack all of his football pads in one corner.  He can stack them so that the first pads he puts on are right at the top, and he can put the entire stack against the corner of the locker so it will not topple over as he retrieves each piece.

The bottom section of the NFL locker is a foot locker.  In addition to storing his shoes and socks in this section, the player can use this area to keep all of his cold weather game gear such as his skull cap, thermal underclothing, hand warmers, and muffs.

Lobby Directory

June 23rd, 2011 by
Share

All types of businesses and schools benefit from lobby directories.  Some have to have them because the Post Office requires that any commercial building with 15 tenants or more using mailboxes list their names and locations in directories.  Directories are also good for security because people can find the information they need without asking the guard and distracting him or her.

The most versatile type of directory is the standing directory.  It stands on a pedestal that you can display inside or outside your building.  Apartments and restaurants use this style extensively to display information about the property, announce a special occasion, or to advertise special prices.  The directory background is black and the pedestal adjusts from 49 to 66 inches.

The business lobby directory is used by smaller commercial buildings mostly.   It on the wall and has a shatter proof acrylic swinging door that locks so unauthorized persons cannot change the lettering.   While mostly businesses use this, some schools will display room number, subject, and teacher of subject with this type of directory.

The marquee lobby directory is good for listing events by day of the week.  It too mounts on a wall, and it has a title header panel above the black lettering background that you can customize with the name of your school or business.  It also has a shatter proof acrylic style door to prevent unauthorized tampering with lettering.  Most public schools use the marquee style directory, but some restaurants are also using this style to display the special of the day.

The name lobby directory is a basic vertical directory measuring 4 inches wide and 14 inches long.  It lists name, floors, and suite numbers on a tape.  Some small apartments as well as very small offices use this style.  It can list up to 45 names.

The open face lobby directory is even more basic than the name directory.  It is a black letter board that does not have any kind of cover.  It mounts to the wall and allows anyone who needs to put new information up to do so at any time of the day.  You see this type of directory used a lot in hotel conference rooms.  Each time a new seminar, religious service, or business meeting is scheduled, the event planner simply changes the lettering.

Characters for directories include letters, numbers, and special characters.  Standard size for all characters is three quarter inches.  Special two inch characters are used for the title header in the marquee directory.

Welded Stainless Steel Cabinet Showers

June 21st, 2011 by

Welded Stainless Steel Cabinet Showers are ideal for the maximum security requirements of prisons and the often turbulent conditions experienced on ocean going vessels.

The position of the showerhead in the corner of the cabinet keeps water from coming out of the entrance and making a mess on the floor.  The cabinet features a large 2 and one quarter inch drain pipe and also has a reinforced receptor pan.

Welded stainless steel cabinet showers are manufactured from heavy gauge, Type 304 stainless steel.  Welded surfaces are ground down to create a seamless form with no separation, seams, or voids.  This prevents any part of the metal from being torn off to create a weapon in a prison environment.

A heavy stainless steel center supports anchors the underside of the receptor to the floor.  Waste pipes are anchored to buffer against turbulence at sea, or at any attempt at vandalism when installed in a penal institution.

The severe service showerhead resides on the inside of the entry.  Its piping is completely concealed.   The stainless steel soap dish is fastened to the wall with concealed fasteners that cannot be torn off.  ON the outside of the entrance is mounted a tension release towel hood.

The unit can be ordered with one of two optional valve arrangements.  Both valve arrangements are chase located.

Welded stainless steel cabinet showers have valves that feature stainless steel air metering.  These valves operate on 5 to 60 second timing cycles that can be only be adjusted from the chase side.

Water flow is directed through touch time controls located on the inside of the unit.  When the user presses the push button, the control sends a signal through an internal, solid state, digital circuit.

This opens and closes solenoid valves.  The timer is electronically controlled to operate at 60 seconds.  The system either runs on 24 volt power or on 110 volts of power through an optional transformer.

In spite of its high security and rugged design, welded stainless steel cabinet showers are very aesthetic.  They are coated in a number four satin finish.  The receptor features a non skid surface that prevents slipping in the shower.  Exposed fittings are triple chrome plated for aesthetics and corrosion resistance.

Welded stainless steel cabinet showers are built as free standing units.  However, they can be wall anchored with optional anchors, which is usually the preferred method of installation in penal environments where vandalism is likely to be a problem.

KD Stainless Steel Cabinet Showers

June 20th, 2011 by

Industrial showers are often installed during renovations.  KD stainless steel cabinet showers are perfect for these projects because they offer several advantages over wall anchored shower fixtures.

The walls of stainless steel walls, , and the reinforced receptor pan floor with two inch stainless steel drain piping, helps remodeling contractors to avoid the cost of installing waterproof block wall shower enclosures.

The cabinet is made out of 14 gauge stock, and the interior piping is manufactured from Type 304 stainless steel.   12 gauge stainless steel is used to make brackets and supports.

Fabricated shower cabinets are assembled with security fasteners.  The bottom of the receptor pan is further reinforced by a heavy stainless steel center support connecting the assembly to the floor.

KD stainless steel cabinet shower feature superior panel construction and security.  Vandal resistant screws hold the cabinet assembly together.  The receptor pan is welded together as a solid surface, and the welds are ground smooth to get rid of any seams or voids.  The receptor pan is also reinforced from below with heavy stainless steel center supports.

In order to make the entire unit as resistant to vandalism or accidental damage as possible, waste pipe connections are anchored.  There is also a vent grill built into the KD stainless steel cabinet shower that is 6 and a half inches by 7 and a half inches square.

The cabinet also features a convenient tension release towel hood on the outside of the entrance, and it also features a stainless steel soap dish that is connected to the cabinet by concealed fasteners.  The unit is assembled in the factory prior to shipment, but the valves are shipped loose for installation in the field.

Now speaking of valve assemblies for the KD stainless steel cabinet shower, there are two options you can choose from.  One is a single temperature air metering system with 5-60 second timing cycles that can be adjusted from the chase side only.

The other is a touch timed push button and solid state, digital circuit that opens and closes solenoid valves.  The flow time is electronically controlled at 60 second intervals.  This valve assembly operates on either 24 volts or 110VAC with an optional transformer.

KD stainless steel cabinet showers are designed as free standing units.  In areas where abuse may happen, they can be anchored to the wall with accessory wall anchors.

Every interior and exterior cabinet side, with the exception of the receptor, is polished with a number four satin finish.  The receptor has a non skid surface.

Bradley Toilet Partitions for ADA Compliant Restrooms

June 16th, 2011 by
Share

Bradley toilet partitions can easily be adapted to fulfill the building requirements for ADA compliant restrooms.  These partitions require only basic modifications to meet the special features that characterize these facilities.  Features that ensure comfort and safety can be mounted on the partitions.  Examples range from horizontal grab bars to user friendly door latches that require negligible effort to open and close.

Being able to open and close a stall door is an important part of ADA compliant restroom design.   Regulations demand that people should exert no more than 5 pounds of pressure to open an close stall doors.  Door handles must be easy to grip and must not strain the wrist or hand of the user.  Devices used to manipulate the door must stand no higher than 48 inches above the floor to ensure that they are within reach of persons in wheelchairs.

Bradley toilet partitions can customized to meet these exact specifications.

ADA compliant restroom codes also require that grab bars be installed on side walls and/or partitions.

Regulations dictate that grab bars measure 1 and 1 quarter to 1 and 1 half inches in diameter.  The centerline of the grab bar has to be 33 inches to 36 inches above the restroom floor.  Each bar must be strong enough to support at least 250 pounds per foot.

A grab bar that 40 inches in length and that is no more than 12 inches from the back wall should be mounted on the Bradley toilet partition located nearest the toilet.  The second grab bar has to be at least 36 inches in length and be mounted along the back wall.  The ends must be no more than 6 inches away from the wall or partition on each side.

Bradley toilet partitions for ADA compliant restrooms must give the user a toe clearance of 9 inches above the floor.  An exception applies to stalls that are deeper than is 60 inches in depth.

In regard to actual toilet compartments, ADA compliant restroom guidelines stipulate that the outswinging door reside no more than 4 inches from the corner diagonal from the toilet.  The toilet should be offset on the back wall with the centerline positioned18 inches from the nearest sidewall or washroom partition.

Bradley toilet partitions can be made from any number of materials and can be mounted in a number of ways that accommodate specific floor plans.  The many intricacies of ADA compliant regulation codes are readily accommodated through accessorization options that will match partitions and stall doors to the exact specifications of code.

Commercial Sinks for Factory Restroom Design

June 12th, 2011 by

XPB Locker Supply sells Terreon® commercial sinks for every type factory restroom design. These are highly aesthetic lavatories built to be super tough, easy to clean, and convenient for multiple employees to use at once. For bathrooms in factories with office areas, they can also be ordered with full ADA accessibility options.

Just call us and give us the details of your factory restroom design. We will use a variety of Bradley resources to get you the very best lavatory for the specific commercial bathroom you are building. We specialize in matching products to applications. We also factor in variables like low-cost maintenance; space utilization, water resource management, and sanitation to give you the best deal for your money.

One tremendous savings on factory restroom design comes from the huge decrease in time it takes to install Bradley Terreon® commercial sinks. For instance, you can our Express Line of Lavatories in only half the time it takes to install a china lavatory. This is because there are 75% fewer plumbing connections needed to install any Express Line sink.

These lavatories are also cleaner and safer than china bowl sinks. Each one is built with a continuous bowl and an integral shelf above the water line. Cleaning crews can thoroughly wash out the unit without water and cleaning fluids spilling all over. Also, soap remains trapped within the bowl, so potential slip hazards caused by soapy floors can be eliminated once and for all.

In factory restroom design, we want to avoid wasting water as much as we want to keep water off the bathroom floor. This is why we have to use commercial sinks that self-manage the flow of water to users. China lavatories with handles cannot do this because the user controls everything, and people often fail to control themselves. A faucet left to run on its own can cost a lot of money, plus cause a safety hazard.

Nothing close to this old technology should be used in any modern factory restroom design, no matter how small the bathroom is. Such dinosaur engineering is too prone to waste and too vulnerable to mischief. The new standard for water flow control is .5 gallons per minute, so always look for lavatories that have this feature built in.

It is also good to use IR touch-free controls or push-button controls. Both shut water off automatically when the user is finished washing his or her hands. IR controls offer the added value of sanitation because hands can communicate pathogens to surfaces they touch. Touch free controls are better for chemical plants where hazardous materials are commonly handled.

Commercial sinks made out of Terreon® are far better than china lavatories or sinks that are all acrylic in build. Terreon resists unintentional and intentional attempts to damage its surface with chemicals, stains, burns, and impact. In the unlikely event that it is vandalized, you can easily repair it with a Bradley Terreon® repair kit.

Commercial Bathroom Accessories for Factory Restroom Design

June 9th, 2011 by
Share

Facial tissue dispensers save on toilet paper costs. These commercial bathroom accessories are often overlooked in factory restroom design. They shouldn’t be. Without facial tissue dispensers, employees will use paper towels or toilet papers as substitutes. This causes supplies to run short and creates unnecessary costs.

Multipurpose dispensers save on wall space. These are some of the most useful commercial bathroom accessories for factory restroom design. There are several different kinds that you can choose from. Some install near sinks and feature built-in trash cans, paper towel dispensers, and soap dispensers. Others install inside of commercial restroom partitions. These combination units dispense toilet seat covers, toilet paper, and feature a napkin disposal for units installed in women’s restrooms.

Multipurpose dispensers should be used in factory restroom design as much as possible in the interest of saving wall space.

Napkin dispensers are recommended for women’s restrooms. Women working on assembly lines who have only 30 minute lunch breaks may not have time to go to the store to buy necessities. Including these conscientious, and often neglected commercial bathroom accessories, saves production time and shows respect to all members of the team.

Medicine cabinets are recommended to store basic first aid supplies. First aid kits are normally stationed throughout manufacturing facilities. However, it is common sense to include them in factory restroom design as well. These commercial bathroom accessories can store basic antiseptics, band aids, gauze, and aspirin within easy reach of employee lockers and employee showers.

Hand dryers are recommended alongside of paper towel dispensers. Few people are ready yet to give up paper towels completely. In fact, when it comes to factory restroom design, it may not be completely practical to give them up altogether. Employees often use paper towels to wipe grease off their arms and hands.

However, paper towel usage and costs can be significantly reduced by encouraging employees to use an energy efficient hand dryer to dry hands and arms, and to use paper towels to wipe off grime and dirt. Eventually enough people will get used to the new generation of hand dryers they will no longer feel the need to rely on paper as much. In the meantime, these new, improved commercial bathroom accessories are a must-have for every new building. Energy efficient models are recommended for every factory seeking LEED certification, and for every company that wants to brand itself green by conserving paper.
