Double Door Military All Welded Gear Locker

July 29th, 2011 by
Share

Double door military all welded gear lockers are built to provide maximum security and durability for essential military storage requirements.  The Army TA-50 locker design is designed for vandal and theft resistance and comes with a lifetime warranty.

The all welded construction is what makes the Army TA-50 locker design so reliable.  No nuts, screws, or bolts are used to assemble the unit.  When we say “all-welded” that means that single sheets of metal are welded together to create the unit.  This is different from the welded knock down design that other metal lockers are built with.  Knockdown welded designs involve assembling materials with screws and bolts and then welding the seams.

These lockers, however, are much stronger than that and far more reliable for the essential needs of military operatives and staff in challenging environments.

Double door military all welded gear lockers deter vandalism and theft with a door design that reinforces door hinges and door locks to prevent them from being pried open.  Military commanders will often use these lockers to keep intelligence documents in a safe, inaccessible place.  Soldiers, of course, will use them to store combat uniforms, equipment, and weapons.

Army TA-50 double door military all welded gear lockers have a very efficient interior designed with practicality and ready access to materials in mind.  There are two shelves in each locker, with one shelf located near the top and another near the bottom.  The cubby-like areas these shelves create provide places for document storage, helmet storage, and small hand-held weapon storage.

Two hooks in the central, larger storage area allow for convenient uniform storage.  There is plenty of room remaining for the storage of other essential gear such as bullet proof vests, specialized reconnaissance equipment, and standard issue weaponry.

Army TA-50 design double door military all welded gear lockers can be secured by either padlocks or combination locks.  Combination locks can be built into the doors if so requested.  In order to ensure integrity and discipline, each group of lockers can be keyed to the same master key so that the military commander will be able to access the lockers if the situation calls for it.

While contents are secure within the Army TA-50 design double door military all welded gear locker, the doors and sides of the unit are perforated to allow constant airflow.  This allows any clothing or equipment that gets wet to dry out conveniently without having to be hung up or left out in the open in an unsecured area.

Anti Ligature Washroom Fixtures

July 27th, 2011 by
Share

Anti ligature washroom fixtures include a broad spectrum of products.  Hand wash lavatories, showers, shower valves, and washroom accessories are all designed with a minimal number of ligature points.  A button, or infrared activation, is substituted, when possible, for handles.  Handles that are necessary feature rounded edges that will not allow materials to be tied to their surface.

Anti ligature washroom fixtures for hand washing are made with contoured edges and spray heads that are mounted flush to the basin.  Water flow is activated by infrared faucets, thus eliminating the need for a handle.  The basins are also designed with contoured edges.  The Terreon material that is used to manufacture lavatories is vandal resistant.  Sinks are almost impossible to break, and any chips or scratches inflicted in their surfaces can be easily repaired.

Anti ligature washroom fixtures for shower facilities include showers and valves that are built with a minimal number of protuberances that someone could tie a cord to, or that someone could break to create a sharp edged weapon.

Shower valves are designed rounded and mounted flush to the wall.  This keeps people from tying shoe laces, bed sheets, or other ligature materials to their surfaces.  Contoured handles have edges too rounded and smooth for inmates or patients to tie off too or break off to use as knives.  Most shower models have hemispherical pushbuttons to minimize ligature points.

Breakaway towel hooks cannot be used to tie off cords for hanging because they break when excess weight is applied.  Sloped tops on valves also minimize sharp edges and tie off points.  Shower units that mount to the wall are very flush to its surface to reduce the chances of it being pulled out.

It is also important to design smaller anti ligature washroom fixtures to prevent little things from being used as weapons or tools of self injury.  Anti ligature bathroom accessories like mirrors are made of break proof glass so they cannot be shattered and turned into sharp weapons.  Toilet paper dispensers are also flush, recessed mounted into walls.  Security screws that require special equipment are used to hold them in place.  Bear hands and ordinary objects cannot remove these screws, or the accessories they hold.

Other smaller anti ligature washroom fixture accessories include grab bars and soap dishes that are made to resist being pulled out of the wall.  Grab bars have welded plates that fill the cavity between the bar and the wall to make them extra strong.

Metal Open Access Children’s Cubbies

July 25th, 2011 by
Share

Metal open access children’s cubbies combine long vertical storage compartments with cubicle storage compartments in an efficient, accessible, space-saving design.

There are four model designs available through XPB Locker.  Each design can be ordered with one, two, or three vertical columns of compartments.  Each column of compartments, so to speak, would give each individual student both vertical and cubical storage areas.

So what are the four types of metal open access children’s cubbies, and what age groups are they most appropriate for?

The smallest children need a smaller unit that they can safely reach into.  For the very early grades, we recommend the Primary Junior cubby locker.  It is only 24” high—ideal for pre-K on up the 3rd grade.  It features one vertical storage compartment from top to bottom and provides plenty of room for primary school supply storage.

Taller, older students will of course need more storage area and specifically allocated storage divisions.  The other three models we sell, the Primary, Primary II, and Backpack Cubby locker, are all 48” high.  These metal open access children’s cubbies all combine a combination of cubicle storage space with vertical storage space.

The Primary design features a vertical storage compartment stretching from the top down to close to the floor.  Beneath this vertical compartment is a smaller, cubical storage area at floor level.  This is a good basic design for slightly older students who are beginning to bring more supplies to school, or who need to store specific supplies given to them in class.

If more space than this is needed, the Primary II cubby locker features an additional cubicle compartment at the top as well as at the bottom of the locker.  Some schools encourage students to keep personal items in the bottom cubicle compartments and in the vertical compartment, while keeping school-owned classroom supplies in the very top compartment.  Particularly in science classes where special tools may be needed, this open access children’s cubby helps teachers keep up with supplies.

Students who carry a lot of books in binders, and who also carry a great deal of supplies and personal belongings in backpacks, need metal open access children’s cubbies that offer larger cubicle storage space.  The Backpack cubby locker offers just that.  It has two rectangular storage areas with extra width to accommodate backpacks and binders.  These two compartments fill approximately the top half of the cubby.  The bottom half is divided into two side-by-side vertical compartments that provide additional personal storage space for special items.

Lavatory Water Closets for Patient Care Units

July 22nd, 2011 by
Share

Lavatory water closets for patient care units are designed to serve the needs of patients, staff, and medical facility designers.  Patients can use facilities which are far more sanitary, far more comfortable, and much less embarrassing.

These combination sink and toilet units, which come in six unique model designs, are also much easier for patients to access than a single commode in a shared restroom.  Located right next to the patient’s bed, they offer more privacy and less embarrassment.

Because they are compact, combination fixtures, they are also much easier to clean than an entire restroom with four walls, a four, and fixtures in multiple locations.

The basic design that each model is based on is amazingly practical.  Based on years of study that contributed to the efficiency of the form, the unit consists of a toilet that is concealed inside a molded decorative cabinet.  When the toilet is not in use, it resides in an enclosed space.  Odors and waste are isolated as a result, which makes for a more hygienic and more psychologically positive recovery experience.

At the top of the lavatory water closets for patient care units is a fully functional sink with its own water source.  There is also a counter space that can be utilized, when appropriate, for various medical tests and treatments.  Caregivers benefit from the convenient proximity of the unit as much as patients do.

In those situations where patients must have assistance using the restroom, it is far better for both the caregiver and the patient to have all necessary washroom fixtures located right next to the patient’s bed.  A simple room divider or sheet between patient beds is all that is necessary to ensure the patient as much privacy as a closed public restroom provides.

Lavatory water closets for patient care units are obviously invaluable to those involved in protracted hospitals stays where a long recovery period is to be expected.  At the same time, they have proven invaluable in a number of other medical care environments where the convenience of a small, accessible, all in one washroom unit proves invaluable to particular forms of testing, treatment, and care.

One particular care industry that has greatly benefited from their use is the nursing home industry.  Elderly patients can have their own personal facilities that require no waiting or sharing with fellow residents.  This simple feeling of ownership is important to many aging patients, and it helps greatly in making a nursing home feel more like a home to those who may be spending their final years in a facility.

Smaller facilities have also saved a tremendous amount of money on restroom construction costs by purchasing an appropriate number of lavatory water closets for patient care units.  Small test labs and local clinics have been able to better utilize existing floor space because they do not have to sacrifice precious square footage to a restroom.

They also offer a more successful, and much more personal, facility to patients in rehabilitation centers.  Other applications where lavatory water closets for patient care units work extremely well include oncology labs, proctology care, X-ray labs, gastrointestinal care, and critical and telemetry care.

Basic Anti-ligature Security Fixtures

July 20th, 2011 by
Share

If you are designing a mental health care facility, a jail, or a prison, you have to proactively minimize the likelihood of attempted suicide or weapons manufacture.  In situations where people are mentally unstable or caged and frustrated, the likelihood for harm to self or others rises.  Anti-ligature security fixtures that minimize these risks are necessary for washroom and shower design.

So what are anti-ligature security fixtures exactly?

In our inventory, anti-ligature security fixtures include any toilet, lavatory, shower, or combination washroom fixture that is installed in a cell or a patient care room.

Features of anti-ligature security fixtures include, but are not limited to, the following design characteristics:

  • Vandal resistance to permanent destruction of the unit
  • Vandal resistance to the unit being ripped out of the wall
  • Absence of removable components that can be turned into weapons
  • Rounded edges that offer to leverage point for hanging
  • Breakaway components that collapse under the weight of a patient or inmate attempting a hanging
  • Absence of rough edges that could be used for self-cutting or attempted suicide.
  • Water and drainage control designs that prevent patients or inmates from clogging the fixture and flooding the cell or the patient care room.

These security anti-ligature plumbing fixtures are made from stainless steel that is super vandal resistant.  They are designed in a variety of mounting and plumbing configurations that accommodate the unique design requirements of the following types of facilities:

  • County jails
  • State jails
  • State prisons
  • Mental health hospitals
  • Mental health institutions for the criminally insane

Because such facilities are highly customized when it comes to things like overall security, space utilization, patient or inmate restrictions, and basic accommodations, anti-ligature security fixtures have to be sold as combination units in some instances, and as individual units in others.

For instance, you can buy water closet combination units that combine a toilet with a lavatory.  Or, you can purchase individual toilets and lavatories that can withstand up to 5,000 pounds of force without being permanently damaged or removed from the wall.

Shower security fixtures can be ordered in either cabinet form or wall shower design.  Wall showers are particularly cost effective to install and uniquely suited to small cells where space saving is a high priority.  Cabinet showers are available in both chase and knock down configurations and can be installed in a variety of plumbing arrays.

Basketball Lockers

July 18th, 2011 by
Share

Basketball lockers made from high quality treated wood give basketball players plenty of storage room for all of their clothes and equipment.  Players can organize everything in specific places that will let them find what they need quickly during suit up.

Each stadium locker has five special storage areas.  Each area can hold a variety of things.  However, when you look at a stadium locker and all five of these storage sections, you can’t help but think that some of them were designed just for certain basketball related items in mind.

The top of the locker, which is actually a top shelf, is a great example of this.  It is simply the very best place to put a practice basketball.  The locker walls rise up above the shelf slightly on either side, as if designed specifically to keep the ball from rolling onto the floor.

You can also put a spare pair of shoes here if you like.

Right under this top shelf, basketball lockers feature two separate storage areas that are built side by side. The first of these sections is a locking security box measuring 11X12X12 that gives a player all the room he or she needs to store valuables.

Beside the security storage box is an open cubby.  Here, the player can store eye protecting goggles, elbow pads, and knee pads.

The most impressive storage sections of these basketball lockers, however, are the huge open middle sections they sport.  These sections look much like doorless closets than lockers.  They have chrome coat rods that across the top that can hold several practice uniforms on one side and the official game jersey and pants on the other.  There is plenty of room below the coat rod for anything else players may need to store.

At the base of each basketball locker is a built in foot locker.  It has a ventilated door to provide continual air circulation that will keep several pairs of shoes and game socks dry.   This foot locker also has a special feature that makes it very well suited for smaller locker rooms with limited budgets.

The top of the foot locker is strong enough to support the weight of a person sitting down.  Players can use this area as a player’s bench when putting on socks and shoes.  While this feature is not needed in most schools, and certainly not the NBA, it is a great feature for day camps and civic centers that can save a great deal of money on benches and still offer their players high quality basketball lockers.

Outdoor Barbeque Grill Design

July 13th, 2011 by
Share

Your choice of an outdoor barbeque grill design needs to be guided by practicality.  The grill needs to be tough enough to withstand environmental stress, possibly harmful agents in the atmosphere, and normal wear and tear.

In some cases it needs to be vandal and theft resistant too.  Certain environments, like those close to the sea, or those that are close to factories, may have salt or pollution in the air that the grill must be designed to withstand.

You also need to base your choice for an outdoor barbeque grill design on user friendliness and safety.  How much expertise do you need in outdoor cooking to use a particular model?  Is there a risk of a stray ember causing a disastrous fire?  Are there lots of children around, and could a child accidentally run into the grill and get burned?

These are serious questions that need to be addressed first before you buy any barbeque charcoal grill.

There are two basic outdoor barbeque grill designs that you can choose between.  Each addresses the specific issues listed above.

The open outdoor barbeque grill design is built to withstand not only normal wear and tear, but any abuse that might be inflicted upon it.

In areas where the air contains corrosive agents, the galvanized model is the most rust resistant barbeque charcoal grill we sell.  In parts of the community where vandalism and theft are common, a powder coated model is the most resistant to scratching.

The pedestal mount makes it difficult, if not impossible, for the average thief to remove the unit from the ground.

Getting the temperature just right on an open grill is something that requires outdoor cooking experience.  Generally, those who cook outdoors every weekend have an easier time using this design.

But what about those of us who cook outdoors only occasionally?  Are we going to fight with those coals all day, or are we going to have some fun?

A closed outdoor barbeque grill design is much more user friendly for the occasional cook because the lid, when closed, traps heat inside the unit.  Four air vents, along with 360 degree rotational capability, makes it easy for even a novice to get the temperature just right.

When the unit is closed, the black enamel coating minimizes heat transfer to the outside of the unit.  This is not to say the unit stays cold.  You don’t want to lean on it, obviously.  However, an accidental touch to this model is less likely to burn the skin than an accidental touch to an open unit.

Since the coals and heat are trapped inside, this design is much safer to use around children and in dry areas where fire could break out quickly.

Also, you don’t have to close the lid.  So, if you are an expert barbeque chef, and absolutely must cook over an open heat source, you can always leave the lid up as long as it is safe to do so.

Park Grills

July 11th, 2011 by
Share

What cooking advantages do open park grills offer?

Well, they are something that most people are used to. Some manufacturers have called the open design “America’s favorite.” It’s almost iconic in our minds when we think of BBQ—a simple open grill, sitting on a pedestal, ready to fill with coals and cook with.

For experienced outdoor cooks who know how to get the fire just right, it’s also easy to use.

What practical advantages do open park grills offer?
The pedestal mount makes them theft resistant. Trying to steal one would be like trying to pull a parking pole, or a bollard, out of the ground. Powder coated open models are highly scratch resistant and retain their color for years. Galvanized steel models are corrosion resistant.

When would I want to choose a galvanized steel model?
If you are managing an outdoor facility located near an industrial area, you can count on pollutants in the air having a negative impact on metal. If you are located near a beach, salt in the air causes metal to rust at a much faster rate.

What if we have problems with airborne agents and vandalism? Which one should we choose?
If you have a budget for replacements, then you should go with the powder coated version to preserve the appearance of your park grills. However, if you will not have the budget for replacing units that corrode, then you might want to install wildlife cameras in your park. These are low-profile, motion activated cameras that can and will catch vandals and potential thieves in the act. Park goers will not be bothered by the cameras because they will think they are there for the wildlife.

Do you sell wildlife cameras?
No. However, they can be bought online for inexpensive prices.

When would we need to buy a closed design park grill?
Safety and user friendliness would be the reasons to buy this design. It is twice as expensive, but well worth the investment. If you are an experienced cook, you can leave the lid up and have the same open grill experience that you have on the more basic unit.

However, if you are something of an outdoor cooking novice, it is easier to get the temperature just right on an open grill. There are four vents that let you control air flow and heat. Also, you can rotate the food rotisserie style, and you can soak it with that smoked flavor.

Safety is another consideration. If you are in an area prone to fires, or if there are children running around all around you, a closed park grill minimizes the risk of coals escaping and causing a fire. Since the coals and grill are under a cover, the risk of a child touching the grill accidentally is also minimized.

Pedestal Mailboxes with Parcel Lockers are Ideal for Centralized Private Mail

July 11th, 2011 by
Share

Pedestal mailboxes for private centralized mail delivery are typically the best option for a college dorm, a military base, a small office park, or a small group of private dwellings.

These units are placed where everyone can receive and send mail from a central, convenient location.  Mail carriers can delivery mail faster with fewer mistakes.  Parcel lockers allow tenants to receive parcels in the same place they receive mail.  This is much more secure than leaving packages on doors.

Pedestal Mailboxes for Private Centralized Mail Delivery are made of heavy gauge aluminum and held together by stainless steel hardware.  They are protected by a powder coated finish and come in six colors.  Mailboxes are front loading, with door panels that are easy to operate.

Pedestal mailboxes for private centralized mail delivery lock for security and have a rain shield to protect contents.  Each mailbox in the pedestal comes with three keys.  Additional keys can be ordered or made.

The outgoing mail slot is conveniently located where everyone can get to it, and it has a weather flap that protects it from rain.  The slot is 11 ¾ X ¾ inches so that large envelops do not have to be bent.

Perhaps one of the greatest benefits offered by the pedestal mailbox for private centralized mail delivery is integration of parcel lockers.  Units usually have one or two parcel lockers, depending on the size of the unit and number of mailboxes.

Multiple keys can be obtained so everyone has their own parcel locker key.  Some institutions, however, just leave the parcel key in the box if the area around the pedestal unit is secure.

Parcel locker sizes are different heights and sizes, depending on the overall size of the unit and neighboring mailboxes.  There are many different choices available.  In some cases, communities prefer only mailboxes in the pedestal and a separate, standalone parcel locker nearby.

To configure and customize a pedestal mailbox for private centralized mail delivery, first choose one of seven pedestal sizes, measured in what we call “door height” sizes.  Then, choose the number and location of your parcel locker

The most popular size is the maximum height unit that has 20 mailboxes and 2 integrated parcel lockers.

You can also order custom engraved placards, have custom engraving done on doors, and order a master commercial lock for parcel lockers and master access doors.  We also provide individual tenant parcel locks, and we provide sets of blank keys that you can use to make duplicates in the event someone loses his or her key.

Overhead Braced Toilet Partitions

July 7th, 2011 by
Share

Our most frequently sold restroom partitions are Bradley Series 400 Sentinel™ Overhead Braced toilet partitions.  This style is ideal for high-traffic and vandal-prone areas, and it requires no special flooring or ceiling construction.  All it needs is a 3 inch minimum concrete base beneath the floor, which virtually all floor have.  This makes the Series 400 ideal for both new constructions and restroom remodeling.

There are five different types of materials used to make overhead braced restroom partitions.  Each materials offers specific economic benefit as well as financial advantage.  Weigh your budget against the usage and decorative demands of your bathrooms to determine which of these materials will best serve you.

Baked enamel is the most cost effective material used to manufacture overhead braced toilet partitions.  Enamel is oven baked and pressured around a 22 gauge steel panel to result in a very fine, mar resistant finish.  The resulting seamless design prevent water from seeping in and rusting the metal.

Plastic Laminate is the second most cost effective material used in making overhead braced restroom partitions.  It is manufactured by sandwiching industrial grade particle board core between a high-pressure plastic laminate that bond to its surface and create a very decorative appearance.

The mid range price point material used to construct overhead braced toilet partitions is Solid Core Phenolic.  Phenolic is a tough, synthetic, durable, industrial resin that is pressed and formed into a solid sheet.

Bradmar Solid Plastic is a Bradley’s patented form of HDPE (high density polyethylene plastic) that is molded into a 1” thick panel. It is also a mid-range price point.  HDPE plastic offers you the advantage of a contiguously colored surface because all of the material is the same color throughout.  You have 21 colors to choose from.

Stainless Steel overhead braced toilet partitions are the premium price point restroom divider option.  They are made from 20 gauge 300 series stainless steel and feature a seamless design that gives them maximum integrity against water penetration that could cause rust from the inside.

You can install overhead braced restroom partitions in four different layouts.

You can install them in a between-wall configuration that involves building one or more stalls between two lateral walls.

You can install them in an open end layout where one stall attaches to a side wall and the other is not attached.

You can also install them in a free standing layout have no compartments attached to lateral walls on either side.

You can also install a single stall in a corner with an end panel in what is called an alcove layout

You can create compartments ranging from 36 inches to 60 inches using overhead braced toilet partitions.  The larger stalls are good for ADA compliance.
