Stainless Steel Outdoor Column Beach Showers

October 27th, 2011 by

Stainless steel outdoor column beach showers feature Type 304 Stainless Steel and polished chrome-plated brass valves.   Our units can have up to 5 shower heads, along with foot washes, that let children and adults thoroughly rinse both skin and swimsuits off after a swim or a day on the beach.

This unique line of column showers emerged on the scene partly because increasing numbers of people in past decades became sick from lake water, river water, swimming pool water, and ocean water.  Some of this sickness came from microorganisms in the water which can be absorbed into the skin.  There are also pollutants now in every body of water on our world, including the ocean.

The genius of the stainless steel outdoor column beach shower design lies in its ability to let a person take a shower the minute they get out of the water, or up off of the beach towel.  The water flow is intended to wash off clothes as much as skin, so the person can go to a private place afterwards, dry off, and change back into dry clothes without having to worry about chlorine bleaching those clothes, or deleterious agents affecting their health after the fact.

It is obvious that no one should ever swallow water they are swimming in.  Common sense should tell us that anything you wouldn’t swallow shouldn’t be on your skin for very long either.  Even chlorine, which is an antibacterial agent, should not be on the skin for very long after leaving a public pool.

The reason you see so many stainless steel outdoor column beach showers installed in places other than ocean side beaches is because they do so more than simply wash off sand.  They protect the health of children, adults, and elderly persons who want to enjoy water-based activities without fear of long-term harm to their bodies.

While the newer models of stainless steel outdoor column beach showers are built to accommodate heavy usage my multiple persons at a time, a 2.0 GMP flow control maximizes water conservation.  Clients can choose between air metering or single compression valves.  There are also multiple drain options available, as well as two height options for shower head positioning.

If you are managing a campground on a lake or a river, a resort hotel with luxury swimming pools, or a beachside area with sunbathers and swimmers, you definitely need stainless steel outdoor column beach showers as part of your standard facilities equipment list.

Choosing Apartment Mailboxes and Office Mailboxes for Building Mail Centers

October 18th, 2011 by
Share

Apartments and business office buildings may contain two very different kinds of commercial entities, but their function, and sometimes even structure, can be remarkably similar.  In terms of purpose, both are intended to lease space to others.  A building mail center is therefore necessary regardless of whether or not it services commercial clients or residential ones.

If you are looking to invest in apartment mailboxes or office mailboxes for your tenants, the following guidelines will help you navigate between all the choices you have to pick the very best units for your particular facility.

You can narrow down your choices by studying the wall on which you will mount them and answering the following questions:

  • How much vertical and space to you have for a group of mail box unit
  • Is it new construction or a remodel?
  • Is there a room or corridor behind the wall?

Once you answer these questions, it becomes very evident to you which apartment mailboxes or office mailboxes will best serve the needs of your building mail center.

Take, for instance, the amount of vertical and horizontal wall space you have.  If you happen to have a very long wall and a relatively small number of clients, then you can line up vertical apartment mailboxes or office mailboxes in a single row.  These units are very large, and they load like slots that fold outward on hinges in the front.  It is easy for mail carriers to access them and to put large pieces of mail in the box without having to bend it.  Some carriers also say it is easier for them to avoid making mistakes in delivery when loading vertical mail units.

If you have a larger number of tenants, however, and limited wall space, you can also buy front loading horizontal apartment mailboxes and office mailboxes for your building mail center.

You will next need to study the nature of the wall itself.  If it is a new construction, you can have the building mail center build recessed into the new wall.  However, if this is a remodel or an addition to a standing wall, you may need to invest in surface mounted units.

While many building mail centers feature rear loading horizontal apartment mailboxes or office mailboxes, these centers must have a room or corridor behind the wall for the mail carrier to use.  If your building does not have such a space, and if it is not cost effective to build one, then surface mounted, front loading units would be the natural default choice.

Office Mail Centers and Apartment Mailboxes

October 17th, 2011 by

Even a quick glance at office mail centers and apartment mailboxes reveals that they are very different from the boxes used for mail delivery to houses.  Houses have either a box mounted on pole, or they have a mail box on the side of the wall near the door.   Commercial mailboxes are very different.  They feature a number of characteristics that are designed to accommodate the needs of their environment.

As soon as apartments began to become common, and large office buildings began to climb toward the sky, it became necessary to find ways to create mail delivery units that would consolidate space, endure repetitive use, provide security to users, and to accommodate the very way the building was constructed.

Wall space conservation is important in even the largest of buildings and complexes.  With multiple offices or living units, building walls must foremost serve the housing needs of the structure.  Typically, office mail centers and apartment mailboxes are mounted in rows or configurations of rows and columns in a designated portion of a single wall.  The size, nature, positioning, and loading mechanisms of these units vary widely based upon the number of users that access them, the types of mail most often delivered, and the status of the building as a new construction or a remodel.

Security is always ensured with a lock that a user and the mail carrier accesses with a key.  Aside from this, and the fact that most of these units are made out of aluminum, the dimensions and the arrangements of office mail centers and apartment mailboxes can be so variable that the mind can stagger at all the choices available.

Let us recommend the best office mail centers and apartment mailboxes, and let us help you configure them as well.  We can match different vertical or horizontal mailboxes to the amount of users versus available wall space in your building or unit.   We can also help you determine if recessed units or surface mounted units are best suited to new constructions or remodels for which you are responsible.

There are also two different methods of loading office mail centers and apartment mailboxes.  Some models load from the front and do not need a mail room or corridor like those that load from the rear.  Rear loading units, however, are often needed when there are large numbers of users, and when wall space is tight.

Commercial Bathroom Touchless Faucets with IR Sensors and Capacitance Sensing Technology

October 13th, 2011 by

Commercial bathroom touchless faucets with IR sensors and capacitance sensing technology keep water from being wasted by people who leave faucet turned on.  They also keep us from having to touch something handled by others.  Push buttons regulate water flow better, but we still have to touch these as well.  Infrared technology both conserve water better and eliminates all need to touch any surface whatsoever on the fixture.

Now, architects must decide between commercial bathroom faucet with IR sensors or capacitance technology.  The issues of hygiene and water waste have been solved, but now we have to think about cost of purchase, ease of use, and the cost associated with replacements of fixtures that can be vandalized.

Faucets with windows that house IR sensors can be easily ruined if someone breaks the sensor window.  However, they are cheaper, and often a very good choice for restrooms with low traffic and little or no risk of vandalism.

The only other thing to consider is the window itself.  Soap scum can cloud the sensor and create a situation where you have to move your hands again and again to trigger the water.

The key difference between commercial bathroom touchless faucets with IR sensor, and capacitance sensing technology, lies in the location of the sensors.  With capacitance faucets, all sensing equipment is built into the faucet neck and protected from impact.

It generates a field of detection below the faucet that is instantly triggered the first time you move your hands.  Not only is it more vandal resistant, but it also works better for restrooms where large numbers of people are washing their hands with soap.

So how do you know if you should buy commercial bathroom touchless faucets with IR sensors, or capacitance sensing faucets?

Consider first the location.  If you are in an area of town where vandalism is common, spend the extra money to get capacitance faucets because it will cost you more to replace faucets with IR detection windows if they are broken.

Also, base your choice of commercial bathroom touchless faucets with IR sensors and capacitance sensing technology on restroom traffic.  The more soapy water you have in the sink put there by a large number of people, the more you need something that will keep on working even if people splash water on the base of the faucet, or on the neck.

If you simply cannot afford the latest fixtures, then browse through our inventory of commercial bathroom touchless faucets with IR sensors and capacitance sensing technology and find an affordable fixture with an IR detection window.  You may have to have your cleaning crew wipe it down more, but if you are in a vandalism free environment, a little extra maintenance will ensure its functionality to the satisfaction of users in your building.

Commercial Automatic Hands Free Water Saver Faucets

October 11th, 2011 by

If you are wondering what type of commercial automatic hands free water saver faucet to choose for your new construction or building remodel, the following brief analysis of three existing technologies can help you make an informed decision that will work best for your budget and your facility.

The first, and simplest type, of commercial automatic hands free water saver faucet technology is air metering technology.  This uses air pressure to regulate water flow, and it is activated by a light touch control button.  The air metering system distributes a controlled burst of water for 10 seconds that then automatically shuts off.

These systems are very cost effective to install in clean restrooms where sanitation is easy to maintain through consistent cleaning.  They are also ADA compliant and ideal for budgetary build outs of accessible restrooms.  Vandal resistance is also a feature that brings ROI through minimal replacement costs.

The next kind of technology used to make commercial automatic hands free water saver faucets is IR sensor control.  This technology uses an infrared sensor concealed behind a window that shoots out a beam of invisible light that triggers water flow when a person puts his or her hands in its path.

This technology is more hygienic than light touch controls because users do not have to touch any part of the fixture.  The only problem that may occur is the deliberate vandalism of the unit that can be inflicted by breaking the sensor window.

In areas where buildings are highly secure, or where personnel are too moral and professional to engage in such behavior, this is not a problem.  However, high traffic restrooms, or facilities in areas that may experience deliberate mischief, should invest in more vandal resistant, and even more effective, capacitance sensing technology.

These commercial automatic hands free water saver faucets have sensor mechanisms built into the faucet itself so that vandals cannot get to the electrical components.  Also, these faucets work ever better than IR sensor windows because they generate an omni-directional field under the faucet that immediately activates at the first hand movement.

Capacitance sensing represents the latest, and most efficient generation of commercial automatic hands free water saver faucets on the market.  For the initial investment, greater resource management, greater attraction factor to users, and lowered replacement costs represent a good ROI in the long run for those who choose to invest in the best now to ensure continued prosperity for their facilities in the future.

Commercial bathroom hot air automatic hands free dryers have overcome all of the limitations of conventional dryers that had so many problems in the past.  Less electricity is now used to get the job done better and faster.  Temperature is more regulated, making the process much more comfortable to the user.

Two brands in particular, made by two leading manufacturers, have helped revolutionize restroom design by providing a viable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly alternative to paper towel wastes.

These brands are the Aerix™, made by Bradley Corporation, and the XLERATOR®, manufactuered by Excel.

The Xlerator® is the first ever commercial hot air automatic hands free dryer that features a Green Spec® listing.

Consequently, if you are designing a building and seeking a LEED® certification, this unit will actually contribute points toward your overall project.   It dries hands in 10 to 15 seconds and operates at 3 times the speed as other dryers.  It is completely touch free, and it uses only 20 percent as much electricity as competing lines from other manufacturers.

The Bradley Aerix™ is another very energy efficient commercial bathroom hot air automatic hands free dryer that is designed to dry hands in 10 to 15 seconds.  A number of touch free models exist, as well as those that are ADA compliant for accessible restroom design.  A cast iron or steel white cover, ultra durable, and ultra chic, makes them appropriate for a number of interior design styles.  This line of products is so easy to install that they are often chosen for renovation due to the cost effective efficiency and ease of installation they contribute to projects.

Bothe these and other lines of commercial bathroom hot air automatic hands free dryers found on our site have already replaced paper towels altogether in many remote buildings where restocking towels is infrequent and too expensive to pay for.  Such areas as state parks, summer camps, truck stops, and even typical buildings in remote, western towns find that dryers are so much easier to install and operate than waiting for delivery trucks that keep increasing the cost of delivery because of high fuel costs.

Another application for commercial bathroom hot air automatic hands free dryers is in high traffic restrooms in facilities that can see thousands, if not tens of thousands, of users a day.  Places like airports, bus terminals, train stations, and sports stadiums simply cannot cost effectively stock all the paper towels that all these people need.  Plus, the disposal of paper towel waste represents a possible environmental hazard, or an additional expense in recycling.

With commercial bathroom hot air automatic hands free dryers, facilities can save up to 95 percent on the cost of paper towels and create to a more environmentally friendly, sanitary restroom environment.

The Bradley Aerix™ is featured in a number of recent case studies involving both new constructions and renovation.  Remodels are easy with this particular dryer because it is so easy to install.  There are adjustable speed and ADA compliant models available for every application.

The Excel Xlerator® is the first commercial bathroom hot air automatic hands free dryer to qualify for LEED® credits and to feature a GreenSpec® listing.  It ranks at the top of the power conservation curve, using 80 percent less energy than many competing models.  It is renowned for its touch free hygeinics and unique drying process that dries hands completely in 10 to 15 seconds.

Bradley Toilet Partitions

October 4th, 2011 by
Share

Bradley toilet partitions have been used in several recent projects all over the country.  They have demonstrated durability and aesthetic that reveals a recession proof power of application to multiple interior restroom designs.

One such project was the building of the first LEED certified museum in Wisconsin.  It was actually a children’s museum constructed to teach kids green living practices.  The partitions used in the project were made from Bradmar®, Bradley’s special material manufactured from recycled HDPE plastic.

Because many children who go to the museum recycle milk jugs, this shows them how the very materials they recycle can be used to build environmentally sound architectural structures.

Another application revolved around the aesthetic of Bradley toilet partitions.  It was the remodeling of an airport in Colorado.  The architects decided to design a restroom interior with a color scheme that reflected the scenery of the Rocky Mountains.   To do this, they chose stainless steel and fusion granite

Accordingly, fusion granite and stainless steel were chosen as the partition materials.   Not only did they mirror the colors of the landscape, but they also offered the vandal resistance essential to a high traffic restroom like we see in airport terminals.

Vandal resistance was also a factor in a similar project in North Texas.  Solid plastic Bradley toilet partitions were used in a recreational facility because they can be wiped clean of graffiti and repaired with a heat gun if scratched.

In yet another construction, a sports stadium was furnished with Bradmar® Bradley toilet partitions, partly because of their aesthetic, and partly because of their durability.  Particularly in stadiums, both visitors at times, and angered members of defeated, visiting teams, can take out their anger on lockers and partitions.

Rather than using metal, which is easily dented, plastic was a much better choice.  It contributed a much cleaner, and less industrial, look to the stadium restroom interiors.  In particular, the primary aesthetic attribute of plastic in this case study pertained to the color of the Bradley toilet partitions themselves.  The color chosen by the director, a dark gray with a speckled texture, made the perfect complement to the gray, black, and silver of the building interior.

Such a contribution was very important to this facility.  Since repeat ticket sales are the core of this facility’s business, creating a very powerful attraction factor in the building’s interior design has had a direct impact on generating tangible, financial returns on investment.
