Buying a new USPS Mailbox might seem easy, however there are regulations enforced by the United States Postal Service regarding mailbox specifications. Many postal customers aren’t aware of these regulations, then become confused when their mailbox isn’t approved.

The USPS has to regulate the types and styles of mailboxes allowed for residential and commercial use to prevent delays and accidents when delivering the mail. XPB Locker & Supply offers a wide variety of USPS-approved mailboxes for homes and businesses. Residential and commercial mailboxes must meet specific USPS requirements, including box size, location, mail slot dimensions (when applicable) and identification information.

Cluster mailboxes from XPB Supply are USPS approved and include a host of security features.  Please note, your local post office must be consulted before installation due to specific placement rules.

Mailboxes for Shopping Centers

Mailboxes-For-Shopping-CentersPacking and shipping stores often add mailboxes to the products and services that they offer to the public. It’s one more reason for customers to patronize the business, and a secure location to receive mail that’s not located in or part of the U.S. Postal Service. Small and large businesses may take advantage of mail boxes in a convenient location, and so may private individuals.

Mailboxes that mount on walls can work for pack and ship stores as well as in central locations where businesses receive mail. These units are often aluminum, and offer mail deposit access from the front side or the back. Some are smaller boxes for everyday mail, and there are also parcel lockers for larger deliveries.

Our Horizontal Wall Mount Mailboxes come in numerous different configurations with a range of 3 to 15 door heights. Each has an outgoing mail compartment, and a front-loading master door where mail can be deposited by the carrier, but then locks again securely with individual access restricted to keys. This style comes in bare aluminum as well as bronze, gold and sandstone. Request A Quote

How to Choose Private Postal Mailboxes

USPS-Private-Cluster-MailboxesOpening a private postal center is a big endeavor. There are the USPS regulations to consider. If your business will operate as a Commercial Mail Receiving Center, also known as a CMRA, the requirements are anything but small. Your business will be responsible for the safety and security of incoming and outgoing mail for each of your customers.

There are also arrangements to be made with the USPS and with other courier services, such as the United Parcel Service and Federal Express, if you intend to operate as a shipping service in addition to receiving mail for private individuals and businesses.

If you’re opening a new private postal center, or if you’re updating or expanding one that’s already in business, here are a few best practices to consider before investing in the postal boxes to keep your daily operation running smoothly.

Choosing the right commercial mailboxes doesn’t have to be one of the more stressful tasks to check off your list. With XPB Lockers, you’ll get safe, secure, attractive mailboxes that comply with USPS regulations and the needs of your customers. 1) If a Recessed Mount Letter Box is ordered how do you cover the opening between the wall and the letter box?

All Recessed Mount Letter Boxes include a fully integrated and decorative flanged collar which fits over the rough opening in the wall.

2) Do Surface Mount & Recessed Mount Letter Boxes offer some feature for outgoing mail?

Yes, an optional outgoing mailbox with slot can be ordered. Typically it will be located on the left of the row of incoming mailboxes. The slot will accept standard size letters.

3) How are the Surface Mount & Recessed Mount Letter Boxes protected from the elements?

All Surface Mount & Recessed Mount Letter Boxes are covered with a thermoplastic coating that “bonds” with the aluminum to form a very tight “skin” that prevents air, water, and moisture from coming into contact with the aluminum.
