When commercial buildings are renovated, the decision is often made to install industrial showers. KD stainless steel cabinet showers are ideal for this purpose. They offer several advantages over in-wall, traditional shower fixtures.
The stainless steel walls and reinforced receptor pan floor, combined with two inch diameter stainless steel drain piping, allows remodeling contractors to avoid the cost of installing waterproof block wall shower enclosures.
Cabinets are constructed from 14 gauge stock, and interior piping is made from Type 304 stainless steel. Trim consists of chrome plated brass. Brackets and supports are made from 12 gauge stainless steel.
Fabricated shower cabinets are assembled with durable security fasteners. On the underside of the receptor pan, further support and reinforcement is provided through a heavy stainless steel center support that connects the assembly to the floor. The caulk style drain outlet in the center of the receptor measures 2 inches.
Superior panel construction and assembly characterizes the KD stainless steel cabinet shower. The panels are pierced and tapped so that they can be assembled with vandal resistant screws that hold the cabinet assembly together.
The receptor pan at the bottom of the shower is welded into a solid surface. All welds are ground smooth, so there are no exposed seams, cracks, or voids in the finished product. The receptor pan is incredibly strong.
It is reinforced on the underside by heavy stainless steel center supports that hold it to the floor. The drain itself features over two square inches of free area so water will not back up in the receptor pan. This keeps the area outside of the cabinet as dry as possible.
In order to make the KD stainless steel cabinet showers resistant to vandalism or accidental damage, the waste pipe connections are anchored. There is also a vent grill in the cabinet that measures 6 and a half inches by 7 and a half inches square. Vent holes are one quarter inches.
There is also a tension release towel hood on the outside of the cabinet entrance, and there is a stainless steel soap dish connected with concealed fasteners. The unit is preassembled in the factory, but the valves are shipped loose for field installation.
As far as valve assemblies go, there are two options for KD stainless steel cabinet showers that facilities can choose. There are two optional valve assemblies available. One is single temperature air metering that features 5-60 second timing cycles adjustable from the chase side only.
The other is a touch timed control that uses a push button and solid state, digital circuitry to open and close solenoid valves. This controls water timing at 60 second intervals and operates on either 24 volts or 110VAC with an optional transformer.
KD stainless steel cabinet showers are so self contained they can be installed as free standing units. In areas where vandalism or abuse may occur, they can be wall anchored with optional anchor accessories.
All interior and exterior cabinet sides, with the exception of the receptor, are polished with a number four satin finish. The receptor features a non skid surface.
