Metal urns post hold a greater amount of ash and butts because they have flat bottoms and convex sides that curve toward the post. Your cleaning crew can easily detach the post and empty out the bottom.

The receptacle style looks like standard trash receptacles. It makes it less obvious that you are providing special accommodation for smokers. While you do want to be courteous and also provide for litter disposal, you may want to also avoid the appearance of promoting the habit of smoking. This is especially true if you manage a theme park, hospital, or family-oriented business of any kind.

Receptacle-style cigarette urns are made of metal, and they are thermoplastic coated. They can be permanently mounted to concrete through pre-drilled holes in the base. The ashtray sits inside the top of the receptacle, concealed from most angles of view, and it can either be filled with sand or left empty to contain extinguished cigarettes.
