Expanded metal seats and tops
Have you ever noticed that the tops and seats of commercial picnic tables have a certain elasticity of sorts? They bend ever so slightly when you sit down, creating a feeling almost like that of a cushion. This pliability is a feature of expanded metal that is made from stretched and perforated sheets of steel. This causes the metal to actually feel softer than a thick, single piece of steel. People can sit for longer periods of time on an expanded metal surface without becoming uncomfortable. Perforated or diamond cut patterns also help keep the surface dry, because rain drains through the openings, leaving only a few drops here to dry in the sun.
Black powder coated under structure
Frame are protected against corrosion by a black powder coated finish. This eliminates the need for repainting, because the powder is electrostatically applied and forms a sort of skin on top of the metal.
Thermoplastic coated
There is never a need to repaint park picnic tables. Thermoplastic is given its color at the time of manufacture and retains its integrity even after several years of being exposed to the elements. Thermoplastic is seldom damaged by normal usage. If it is deliberately vandalized, it can be repaired quickly and easily.
Optional leg protectors
Portable commercial leg can be fitted with leg protectors that prevent the bottom of the frame from being scratched when the table is moved.
Optional anti-skateboard tabs
These tabs prevent kids from skating on tabletops and benches. They can be unobtrusively fitted the the edges of table tops to protect your investment against mischief.
Optional umbrella
Most commercial picnic tables are made with umbrella holes. If you want to order umbrellas with your tables, you can do so through your account executive.
ADA Customization
Commercial picnic tables can be customized for ADA access by leaving out one of the seats. This allows a person in a wheelchair to pull up to the table without obstruction.
