The bench seats have a similar design and optional anti-skateboard tabs can be purchased to protect the picnic table and seats from skateboard damage.  These anti-skateboard tabs are very effective in keeping skaters away from the table.  The understructure or frame is made from heavy duty, galvanized angle steel. The frame is given a durable, black powder coating for corrosion protection. The frame’s black color also helps highlight the selected color of the table top and benches.

The Oval Angle Iron Picnic Table has three basic mounting options available. The frame is slightly different depending on the mounting option selected by the customer. The portable mount is often selected when the table will be moved on a frequent basis.  Actually this mounting option has no mounting attachments whatsoever. The table simply rests on the surface.  The table model for portable mounting weighs one hundred and eighty-five pounds. The second mounting option, surface mount, is usually selected when the building owner want a semi-permanent placement on a hard surface such as concrete or tile. The Oval Angle Iron Picnic Table legs will have pre-drilled holes suitable for bolting into anchors that have been installed in holes in the concrete.  The table can be moved at any time but it must be unbolted.  The mounting surface will have permanent alterations made to install the bolt anchors.  The table model for surface mounting weighs one hundred and ninety pounds.  The third mounting option, in-ground mount, is usually selected when the customer desires a permanent outdoor mount on soil or grass.  This option requires at least four holes to be dug into the soil.  The table model for this mounting method weighs one hundred ninety-five pounds and will have leg extensions of approximately eighteen inches.  The leg extensions will be lowered into the holes in the ground and then the holes will be filled with wet concrete.  When the concrete dries the table is permanent located. This mounting option is also theft resistant because moving or stealing the picnic table is very difficult.

The Oval Angle Iron Picnic Table is protected from rust and corrosion by a colorful and attractive thermoplastic coating. This plastic or plastic-epoxy coating has a longevity of decades and will not peel or crack.  The thermoplastic coating has UV inhibitors to resist color fading. The coating is also easily repaired if damaged.  This is usually accomplished with an industrial heat gun that slightly melts the coating and allows it to rebind itself. The coating is also virtually maintenance free and if vandalized with spray paint can be easily cleaned.  The available colors are black, red, orange, yellow, green, bk-green, teal, blue, navy, purple, burgundy, brown, beige, sandstone, gray, and granite.
