Industrial Showers

There are single user and multiple user industrial showers.  Some are in full compliance with ADA code, while others offer general compliance with code.  There are different ways you can mount the many different styles so you can accommodate user needs from the standpoint of complete efficiency. 

The most traditional commercial showers are single user stations that you often see in hotel rooms, nursing care facilities, and small factory bathrooms.  These shower require in wall plumbing and individual installation.  

Because of the cost of breaking into walls to repair traditional individual showers, other individual industrial showers are mounted on top of the wall and use concealed piping instead of in wall piping.  .  They are easier to repair, and the come preassembled for easy, quick installation.   

There are a number of styles that mount in corners and to walls that you can choose from.

Some companies prefer group showers, though, because they make more efficient use of plumbing fixtures and water itself.  Group showers use only one water supply to service several persons at once.  They are easy to install as well, because they ship preassembled.

There are freestanding group industrial showers, column mounted types, and models made for outdoor use like beach showers are.  You can also get panel mounted styles that affix to the sides of walls. 

Many businesses like the benefits of a group shower, but they are concerned that users will feel uncomfortable with the lack of privacy.  There is a solution to this.

You can also buy industrial showers that are fully ADA compliant.  These are actually ADA shower packages that have features like hand held shower heads that can be moved around on flexible hoses, grab bars, and shower valves. 

In some cases, you may not need a shower that is totally ADA compliant.  You may only need to buy a barrier free shower that has obstruction free entrances and general safety features inside. 

Most barrier free showers do have horizontal grab bars.  Some also have barrier free seat.  We recommend that if you buy any ADA shower package, barrier free shower, or group shower for a public facility that you get Terreon industrial shower pans.  They will increase user safety with a vandal resistant and slip resistant surface and provide better waste water disposal through a central drain.
