Bradley Toilet Partitions for ADA Compliant Restrooms

Bradley toilet partitions can easily be adapted to fulfill the building requirements for ADA compliant restrooms.  These partitions require only basic modifications to meet the special features that characterize these facilities.  Features that ensure comfort and safety can be mounted on the partitions.  Examples range from horizontal grab bars to user friendly door latches that require negligible effort to open and close.

Being able to open and close a stall door is an important part of ADA compliant restroom design.   Regulations demand that people should exert no more than 5 pounds of pressure to open an close stall doors.  Door handles must be easy to grip and must not strain the wrist or hand of the user.  Devices used to manipulate the door must stand no higher than 48 inches above the floor to ensure that they are within reach of persons in wheelchairs.

Bradley toilet partitions can customized to meet these exact specifications.

ADA compliant restroom codes also require that grab bars be installed on side walls and/or partitions.

Regulations dictate that grab bars measure 1 and 1 quarter to 1 and 1 half inches in diameter.  The centerline of the grab bar has to be 33 inches to 36 inches above the restroom floor.  Each bar must be strong enough to support at least 250 pounds per foot.

A grab bar that 40 inches in length and that is no more than 12 inches from the back wall should be mounted on the Bradley toilet partition located nearest the toilet.  The second grab bar has to be at least 36 inches in length and be mounted along the back wall.  The ends must be no more than 6 inches away from the wall or partition on each side.

Bradley toilet partitions for ADA compliant restrooms must give the user a toe clearance of 9 inches above the floor.  An exception applies to stalls that are deeper than is 60 inches in depth.

In regard to actual toilet compartments, ADA compliant restroom guidelines stipulate that the outswinging door reside no more than 4 inches from the corner diagonal from the toilet.  The toilet should be offset on the back wall with the centerline positioned18 inches from the nearest sidewall or washroom partition.

Bradley toilet partitions can be made from any number of materials and can be mounted in a number of ways that accommodate specific floor plans.  The many intricacies of ADA compliant regulation codes are readily accommodated through accessorization options that will match partitions and stall doors to the exact specifications of code.
