Prison Toilets

All of our prison toilets share certain basic Antiligature characteristics such as rounded edges, all welded designs, and no protrusions that can be used for suicide attempts or weapons manufacture.  Fixtures are made from stainless steel to maximize both vandal resistance and sanitation.  These prison plumbing security fixtures can take between 2,000 and 5,000 pounds of force, depending on the model.

Different prison toilets mount differently and flush differently.  This is to accommodate different security levels in different types of detention facilities.  When vandalism and violence are likely, toilets should have blowout jet flushing capability.  This allows large items such as books or mattress pieces to be flushed through the plumbing without stopping up the unit and flooding the cell block.

In correctional facilities where this level of mischief is unlikely, siphon jet flushing can be used effectively.  Siphon jets use a water jet at the front of the bowl to flush waste through a flange.  Flanges on even the siphon jet models, however, are larger than those on residential toilets because there is still always the possibility of debris getting into the fixture even if it is not the result of deliberate vandalism.

However, all prison toilets should feature water flow control and water overflow control mechanisms whenever possible.  This prevents water waste and accidental damage to equipment that could occur through unintentional misuse or neglect of the equipment.

Specialized prison toilets include in-floor mounted fixtures that are commonly used in detoxification cells, padded cells, and some solitary confinement units.  These fixtures install directly into the floor and feature a non-standard commode design that provides utilitarian functionality only.

A much more advanced prison toilet option that is also highly adaptable to a variety of plumbing configurations is the combination prison toilet lavatory water closet stainless steel design.  This design features an all welded steel construction available in three modified configurations.  The essential design, however, is simply a sink on top of a cabinet that contains a toilet near the floor. 

This configuration saves on space and is ultra secure because all hookups are behind the cell wall.  It is also much more difficult to break this unit because it is stronger than an individual lavatory or toilet.  Both the lavatory and the toilet feature water flow control and overflow prevention, so deliberate flooding of cells is kept at minimal risk. 

Combo units are much easier to install than individual sinks and prison toilets.  Units are ANSI specification compliant and can be chase mounted or floor mounted.  Chase mounting is recommended for maximum security conditions.
