Most restaurant bathrooms that are currently under remodel have already been built with at least one ADA compliant stall. Problems in renovation typically arise for one of two reasons.  Sometimes new stalls have to be built for non-handicapped users, and there is too little room to build them with existing lavatory systems.  Or, new aesthetics are required that make it difficult to fit all the necessary stalls, (and urinals for men’s rooms), lavatory decks, and appropriate accessories into the confines of the existing space.

Major changes may have to be made to the floor plan that require professional design assistance. Ambulatory or standard wheelchair access stalls may have to be moved to another wall, resulting in an entirely different restroom layout than previously existed.  The number of lavatories, or the size of the lavatory deck, may need to be significantly increased to accommodate a higher number of restaurant patrons.  On top of all this, a new, improved look is expected that is not easy to create using many of the standard partitions, lavatories, and accessories on the market.  While these products may comply with accessibility regulations, they often lack attraction factor and end up diminishing aesthetic as a result.

Nonetheless, it is possible to remodel a restaurant bathroom in such a way as to make it even more ADA compliant than it previously was AND more attractive as a result. The key to doing so lies in a blend of design assistance and guided product selection based on design that our company has become known for.  By ensuring that the facility features the very best possible use of space, we are able to then recommend a wide range of partition options, lavatory options, and accessory options to populate that space.  Furthermore, many of our products are customized to meet unique space restriction challenges that often face the owners of small family restaurants.

The challenges associated with fitting grab bars in with other toilet stall accessories, finding an attractive lavatory that will fit allotted space, look good, AND serve both handicapped and non-handicapped users alike, can be better overcome with this approach. Partition materials allow us to synthesize durability with aesthetics.  Hardware options and customization options allow us to help you develop innovative door designs, custom depths, and increased user privacy.  Lavatories such as the Frequency combine style, multi-user functionality for all persons, and superior knee clearance for wheelchair bound users.  Accessory series such as the Advocate series allow us to make even small ADA compliant restaurant bathrooms appear more spacious, comfortable, and pleasing to the eye than ever before.
