Dressing Room Design
Showers should accommodate as many users as possible while still providing privacy to individual users. Column showers are the best showers to use for dressing room design. They draw from a single water source and distribute it to multiple users.
Column showers are most commonly installed along the wall, where each column feeds several shower heads that are divided by privacy partitions.
There are exceptions to this in larger dressing rooms, however. Some column showers are also installed in the center of the room, where a pipe under the floor feeds the shower faucets. Privacy can also be installed in this configuration just as they can be with the wall mounted configuration.
Lockers for dressing room design should feature dry, wrinkle free storage and security. There are a number of designer locker styles that feature all three of these attributes. Locker selection depends upon the type of clothing worn to the dressing room. People coming in with suits and nice dresses need a design with hooks that can hang the clothing.
They will also need some extra space and shelving for shoes and personal items. People who are wearing more casual clothes that they feel comfortable folding neatly can use smaller individual locker units. Laminate coating on the lockers keeps their contents dry. Lockers also feature reliable security as well. All can be fitted with padlocks or combination locks.
Designer lockers for dressing room design are also very attractive additions to any interior design. Their efficient utilization of space prevents them from dominating the field of vision. They also come in six different colors that make it easy for architects to match the lockers to the surrounding room layout.
Dressing room designs with built-in restrooms can maximize their space utilization with a wide range of commercial bathroom toilet partitions. Some dressing rooms may have more room than others. Some may have limited wall space, whereas others may be undergoing a remodel. For each and every one of these project types, there is a toilet partition mounting style that will meet the particular needs of the room. Examples include, but are not limited to, floor mounted, ceiling hung, floor to ceiling mounted, and wall mounted.
Plastic or phenolic core partitions are recommended for dressing room design. Plastic and phenolic are both very durable surface materials built to withstand the heavy traffic seen in most changing rooms. Also, if there are showers in the room, plastic and phenolic are nonabsorbent materials that will moisture, bacteria, mold, and mildew. Not only will they last for years, but they are easy and cost effective to clean.
