Baseball Locker
Wood baseball lockers more space than most competing locker types. As open access storage units, they provide a place for every article of clothing and piece equipment to be stored and retrieved easily when needed.
Baseball lockers are divided into five storage areas. The first area is a top shelf that the very top of gives the player an ideal spot for storing a batting helmet, along with other items like spare pairs of shoes and an extra baseball mitt.
The next area just under the top shelf is two adjacent storage units. One is a locked security box for valuables. The other is an open cubby section. Most players store baseball mitts, wrist guards, and sports drinks here.
The main storage area is a large middle section for storing clothing and equipment. On the left side of this area, near the top, is a coat hook that is ideal for hanging the player’s baseball cap. The middle section of the baseball locker also has a coat rod spanning the top. It gives the player lots of room for several practice jerseys and pants. It also has plenty of room for the official game uniform.
In the back corner of this large, closet-like section, a player can also store a baseball bat. Catchers normally store their specialized gear in this area too. Everything from protective gloves, shine guards, knee savers, and chest protectors are kept here. Some catchers also place their masks here, but others prefer to keep it on the top shelf so they can reach up and put it on after donning the rest of their gear.
The baseball locker has a foot locker with a closing door at the very bottom. This section gives a player a special place to store several pairs of shoes and socks. One very unique feature of this foot locker is it can also be used as a small bench.
Professional and college baseball teams, of course, have locker room benches for seating. However, many small leagues all over the country have very little locker room space. Having a bench built into a locker saves a league a great deal of money.
Baseball lockers are made from ¾ inch red oak plywood. To make the wood moisture resistant, it is coated with 3 coats of catalyzed lacquer clear finish. The foot locker is louvered to provide constant air flow to the interior so that socks and shoes can be kept dry and odor free.
