Commercial Bathroom Mirrors
Commercial bathroom mirrors facilitate personal grooming and enhance restroom décor. They have a flat, polished, reflective surface. Many are manufactured out of stronger materials than standard glass to make them vandal resistant.
Glass mirrors feature a 1 1/4 inch plate that is clean and contemporary in appearance. Other surfaces include stainless steel, laminate glass, plexiglass, and tempered glass.
Because of this, we see commercial bathroom mirrors wherever we go—from truck stops to train stations to airports to five star resorts. Framed mirrors are practical for all these environments because of their satin, attractive steel angle frames welded at the corners.
If you want vandal resistance, though, you need a Type 308 stainless steel mirror. It has no frame and a highly polished No. 8 architectural finish that is every bit as reflective as a glass mirror.
“Stainless” doesn’t mean, by the way, that the mirror never gets dirty. It does, and you will have to clean it. However, you don’t have to worry about destructive corrosion, permanent staining, or rust like you do with cheaper materials.
This makes stainless steel restroom mirrors ideal for humid climates where mold can build up on other materials and stain them green. They are also good for heavily polluted industrial zones where chemical fumes can damage less resilient material.
If you are an architect seeking a practical, clean procurement with durability and built-in longevity, you can count on stainless mirrors. Added value also comes in the form of a 15 year warranty against corrosion, rust, and silver spoilage.
You have no idea how much money that stainless steel commercial bathroom mirrors have saved public school districts, libraries, convenience stores, restaurants, bus stations, and subway terminals over the years.
Now in regards to plate glass commercial bathroom mirrors, you have two types of glass you can choose between.
The first is tempered plate glass. It is made by heating glass to a high temperatures and then quickly cooling it. This is the same method used to temper blades and tools. When they temper glass, mirror makers harden it to 4 times the strength of regular glass. Its thermal resistant and has a great deal of impact resistance as well.
The only disadvantage here is the less-than-perfect appearance of the plate glass. You can always see some slight flaws and distortions somewhere on its surface.
Laminated glass commercial bathroom mirrors are better looking. It is much more reflective and smooth. Not being tempered, it is only as strong as standard glass and therefore not as vandal resistant as plate glass.
