What are large multi compartment mailboxes?

They are cluster mailboxes supported by a pedestal, which is why they are often called “cluster mailboxes” or “pedestal mailboxes.”

What type of metal are they made from?

They are made from heavy duty aluminum.

What kinds of establishments can benefit from cluster mailboxes?

Retail strip centers are a big customer group. They are in community in America now, from the largest cities to the smallest of towns.  Even though some of the largest retail corporations in the world often lease space in these centers, the actual size of the strip center is typically too small to devote any sizeable amount of wall space to mail boxes.  Pedestal mailboxes are therefore the best option for servicing multiple tenants in a limited amount of space.

We also sell a lot of large multi compartment mailboxes to rural, residential, gated communities.  These communities are like self-contained cities in their own right, but with a remarkably rural, neighborhood appeal.    Houses are often built along miles of winding road which could easily take 3 or 4 hours of a mail carrier’s time if he or she dropped mail off at each house.    With cluster mail boxes installed near the gate of the community, the carrier has only one stop to make, and residents need only to stop off on their way home in the evenings to retrieve their mail.

Other users of cluster mail box unit are found in small office complexes. They use them for the same reason that retail strip centers use them—to provide a central, space saving mail area that services multiple tenants in small office suites.

How many units are present in large multi compartment mailboxes?

That depends on the unit you buy.  Different models contain 8, 12, 13, and 16 box units.  There are 2 box parcel box units too.

How easy is it to access these mail boxes?

They are very easy.  There is an outgoing mail slot that allows you to slide the mail through a slot.  Personal mailboxes and parcel boxes are accessed by mailbox keys.

Where can you install large multi compartment mailboxes?

Organizations typically install pedestal mailboxes near the wall along a sidewalk in a locating that is conveniently accessible to commercial tenants.  Residential communities will typically install them just inside the gate in a concrete rotunda or along the periphery of a circular driveway area where people can park their cars and quickly go to their particular mail box unit.
