What Are The Different Types of Paper Towel Dispensers Made In America?
Do you have touch-free paper towel dispensers?
Yes. These are mid-range in cost and feature a blend of sophisticated technology and cost effective manufacturing. The housing is plastic to reduce costs and is reasonably impact resistant (though not as vandal resistant as stainless steel.) The IR motion sensor dispenses one sheet at a time and eliminates the need for a user to touch any part of the unit. This is a great choice for a restaurant, but keep in mind that if the sensor is broken or vandalized the unit becomes for all intents and purposes inoperable. Most clients outside of the food service industry look for units that do not rely on cranks or IR sensors to dispense paper towels.
Do you have any paper towel dispensers that are inexpensive and basic?
Yes. We have traditional roll paper dispensers (the ones that use a manual lever) for a lower end price point. These are still used in some environment where touch free hygiene is not a major issue. However, the majority of clients now look for something that minimizes user contact with fixture surfaces, even if it requires them to manually pull the towel out of the dispenser.
Do you have vandal-resistant models?
To some degree, we do. We have simple stainless steel units that feature what some would call pull-down functionality. The user simply grabs the bottom of the paper towel and pulls it out without the need for any motion controlled sensor or external handle. Some of these are surface mounted units; others are recessed and semi-recessed and fit flush or near flush to the wall. Each model offers a certain degree of vandal resistance that can be matched to the risk of vandalism in your facility and balanced with your available budget. We don’t classify any of these fixtures as “anti-ligature” or “security fixtures” in our main product grouping. Security fixture lines like the types used in prisons and jails typically do not include paper towel dispensers because paper towels can be used to vandalize sinks and toilets. Anything we describe as “vandal-resistant” then is relative to durability, not an official manufacturer specification.
Do you have combination paper towel dispensers?
Yes. We have those that are built into a unit that includes a waste receptacle. We also have units that combine a dispenser, a waste receptacle, and an electric hand dryer for organizations that want to accommodate user preference but also reduce paper towel procurement costs.
